cedar point haunted?

hey all....i came across this creepy site about cedar point being haunted. just asking all you veterans out there if this is actually true......If you want the actual site I got this from, send me an e-mail or IM me and I'll give you the link.

Cedar Point, America's greatest amusement park, has a haunted carousel horse. "Military Horse" is sometimes ridden by a spectral woman, either the wife of Daniel Muller, who carved the horse, or a woman who fell in love with it on her honeymoon. The horse, it's said, cannot be photographed without some mishap.

But that's not the only haunting at America's Roller Coast. There is the old Hotel Breakers, where seasonal employees are sometimes housed. Go left at the top of the steps on the top floor and walk out to the balcony facing the lake and you'll feel yourself being pulled over--if you're a girl. The story goes that a couple at the hotel knew they were going to be separated and made a suicide pact, then jumped off the balcony here. The guy fell to his death but the woman held onto the railing and pulled herself back up, which is pretty much typical. His ghost tries to pull girls over the edge into eternity with him, so be careful. Another part of the old hotel was the site of a suicide; a girl killed herself in the shower. Residents sometimes hear crying and see their shower turned on and off by itself.

In addition to this, there is the haunted ballroom above the arcade, which is used occasionally by the park or rented out for Proms. Spectral music is often heard there, and ghostly dancers are seen.

I should take a picture of the horse, and if it's screwed up, I'd probably believe it's haunted. I heard about a ghost jumping on a girl's bed somewhere at CP, or something like that. Is this true?

I haven't heard about the balcony, but there is a ghost in Breakers, named Mary, and whenever it's brought up nobody seems to want to talk about it. All we get out of people is that you can feel her presence.

There is also urban legends that the frontier carousel was haunted and the Giant Wheel is haunted by the ghost of a man who was either pushed over or jumped because he couldn't be together with his girfriend. There's been 133 years for stories to brew, urban legends to spread, and if you believe, ghosts to inhabit places and things.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

haha funny story: OK, I am like almost 19, and a pretty normal guy. But the FUNNIEST thing is, is like, if someone tells a scary story, or even if I tell one, or I watch a scary movie, I will start CRYING!!!! Hehe and after reading those posts about ghosts, I started crying. Isn't that nuts?? Hehe its just like an emotional response, its great. I love scary movies and stuff, and people LOVE watching them with me because I always cry!!!! Just had to share that info.

You'd think a ghost would have better ways of showing that it's around than messing with your plumbing!

I admit, I believe in ghosts. I think it would be freaky if you were staying at the Breakers, and when you went to the bathroom at night the shower turned on by itself...OK, I'm beginning to scare myself.

Now I feel just great about working at Breakers....Thanks, guys.

Nah, I'm only kidding. It's ghost stories, c'mon.

cedar point was at one point, and technicly still is a natural island....it was only when they connected it to land with the causeway and chause that it bacame a pinninsula, but anyway, back in the day during the battle of lake erie, the islands were inhabited by indians(not sure which tribe), the army took the island over and there was some sort of battle, ive heard of things happening on the frontier trail late at night and stuff, but i never experienced anything, and i walked thru a dark closed stockade every night. so see for your self!
Oooo, i am getting all excited. I like this kind of stuff, it intrigues me, don't know why though. I'll have to make sure I visit all of the aforementioned sites this summer.

Mary is real.
A long time friend of mine who worked at the point in 1979 told me about the Ballroom hauntings, and another ghostly girl that haunts the Cedars Dorms. He said he saw both.

I encourage those with heightened credulity for these types of stories to read The Demon-Haunted World: Science As a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan.

A ghostly girl in Cedars? I might believe a ghostly boy.
Well Cedars was once a hotel, so it's possible.

What's the story of the ghost of Mary in the hotel? Is she the one that "pulls" girls over the balcony or is she the one in the shower? I was in the hotel all summer and nothing strange ever happened that I was aware of.

The story of the ghostly horse was in one of the Haunted Ohio books. I remember I wanted to go take a picture of it to see what happened, but the summer after I read the story, they had removed the Frontier Carousel! I saw it this year at Halloweekends, but they had a video of some girl riding it, so that probably would have messed up the picture anyways.
