If the line is long, come back later! Why is that so hard for people to understand?

The funny thing about this thread to me is that each time I go I think of how much shorter all the lines are in comparison to years ago. Jeff is correct; there is simply no reason you should be in a line over an hour (yes, MF and TTD could be exceptions). And, if you went on a weekend in peak season, what exactly did you expect? Walk ons? Last time I checked, CP's attendance was actually down that last couple years. Hmm.

Promoter of fog.

I'm sure the new coaster for '07 will have significant capacity. It should help with the crowds. Hopefully it will take some time off the TTD and MF lines.

Coaster Fanatic Since 2003

I don't think that one ride is going to signifigantly affect the other lines in the park. Look at when Millennium Force or Dragster go down and the lines empty. Figure they have a one hour line when they crap out. That's about 1000 people.

Divide those 1000 people across the other 67 attractions in the park and you get 15 people extra per attraction (that's on average, of course). That's not a signifigant impact.

Now, over time, with a lot more rides there will be a signifigant impact on the other rides. You also have to account for the theoretical increase in attendance as the park grows.

So, basically, I'm saying that I disagree with the theory that a new ride here and there will really affect the length of the other lines in any signifigant way.

Look at the other side of it, though. When TTD goes down, everybody heads to MF, when MF goes down, everybody heads to TTD.

Likewise, if they're both down, I think most people go for Magnum and Raptor.

I understand what you're saying about the spreading out of the people, but really, I have noticed longer lines on stuff when MF was down at the beginning of this season. In fact, the day it re-opened at around 6:00 and I was there, I knew it had opened without even seeing it because the park just seemed less packed, if even by a little bit.

Stop disagreeing with me. It's insulting. ;)

Keep in mind that I was talking theoretically. Of course when you're talking real life people won't follow the laws of averages.

I'm just impressed he used two O's in too.

Ride on, MrScott!

I went to CP on May 9 this year and the longest wait was 30 minutes (for MF). TTD was only a 15 minute wait. Everything else was less than 15 minutes.

When I went to CP for my first time in 2003 I had no desire to ride Dragster. It wasn't because I was afraid, but rather I knew that Dragster would lose its popularity eventually. I didn't end up riding it until October 2004 and since then I've only been on it about 5 times. When project 2007 opens, I'll probably wait until 2008 to ride and for the time being get my fill on Dragster. The rides will be there for years to come, the lines however will decrease eventually.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Ugh! How could you wait to ride Project 2007!! I would never be able to wait!

I really don't think TTD lost its popularity. I think what really happend is that they have crew members and mechanics that fully understand the ride and its problems now. Also I think that the ride has worked through alot of its kinks. Thats why the line is shorter, i.e. the reason YOU PERSONALLY feel that the ride has lost it's popularity.

Again, Just My Two Cents

TC 2004. Let the fun begin.

Thunder Canyon 2003/TTD 2003

I'm older, but lines are the shortest I've ever seen as a whole. I remember in the 80's waiting 30 minutes for flat rides. No one really ever complained. I think we (Americans) are a little spoiled. We don't wait for anything anymore. Fast food is everywhere, computers and the internet get information within a matter of seconds. I remember having to wait a week to see Return of the Jedi since all the other shows were sold-out (they only had 2 screens compared to the 30 they have now). I'm sure there are other examples. We used to play games in line like trivia. We had a blast. Most of the time others would join in and you meet all kinds of people.
