Cedar Point falls behind?

How in the world did this happen?  With the completion of "X," Six Flags Magic Mountain will have 15 coasters (including that crappy Flashback ride they only keep open for numbers) total, which obviously goes above Cedar Point's count of 13.
This sucks!!

I much rather have quality rides than quantity.  If you go to SixFlagsWOA, you have a lot of coasters to ride.  Minderaser and Serial Thriller both are lousy in my opinion.  I like the Classic Double Loop, Big Dipper, and so forth, but I rather have less of better than more of garbage.
Ummm... X has yet to Open and let's just wait and see what happens next season eh?

Cedar Point will have less coasters? That's it. I'm not going anymore. The park sucks now. Raptor, Millennium Force, Magnum... who cares. They suck now that a park 3,000 miles away has more coasters.

I think you all should be glad that a park like Wyandott Lake is not your home park.  Down here in South Florida I have one coaster that is less than a 3.5 hour drive from me.  Quit your bi****ng!
Heck I just purchased my airline tickets for SFMM

This second hill is my favorite part of the ride. It is so Cool!
Gemini 100
Its Dan K's fault
And if you want to get technical, CP has 14 coasters, not 13! :)  X hasn't opened yet, so MM has the same number IF you count Superman: The Escape as a coaster.  In all reality, it doesn't matter because like Jeff said, they are so far apart.

That SFMM isn't as good isn't the point.  It's the title of #1.  I'm sure CP Irvine would be pissed.  And anyone who's anyone understands how she feels about this sort of thing.

Why didn't you consolidate your posts into one? Did you need three?

I'm not condescending, I just have a grip on the important things in life. Since the Internet has come along, park and coaster enthusiasts, especially the younger ones, are so wrapped up the silly and pointless aspects of it that they forget the whole point is to get out there and ride.

Really... what difference does it make that some park thousands of miles away has more rides? How does that make your time at Cedar Point any less enjoyable? Is that really something to get "pissed" about in the great scheme of human life?

There's a coaster taller than Millennium Force in Nagashima Japan. Should I be pissed? Should I boycott the Japanese park if I'm ever fortunate enough to be there?

At the end of the day, the important thing is that I get my rocks off on a coaster and enjoy myself. I don't see Cedar Point (or Holiday World, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, etc.) not doing that any time soon.

May I suggest one thing that will make you realize that the number of coasters does not mean a thing...

Spend a day at Knoebel's or Holiday World.

If you can walk away from those places honestly saying that you did not enjoy yourself, then you go right ahead and whine and be pissed off about Cedar Point losing the record of number of coasters.  Who loses in that circumstance?

Wade, didn't you even see what MD told you? CP has 14 coasters...why do you keep saying 13?

Look, i'm just making myself sound stupid.  I know what I mean, but I'm obviously not getting the point across very well.  I'm glad you're all geared toward the specific fundamentals of Cedar Point.  I'm simply stating that even though Cedar Point is still the best, it's already been topped, and it just sorta irks me that other parks are so quick to steal the thunder.

By the way, sorry, I could of sworn I counted 13.

I still think that Magic Mountain is cheating by keeping that defunkt Flashback in temporary operation.

Hasn't CP been Number 1 for many many moons with this record..I would say "standing the test of time" CP has done!

Flashback is not defunct. It is currently open for all who wish to test their manhood on it. SFMM is my homepark, and I couldn't care less about the "most coasters" record.

BTW, since when are SFMM's coasters not quality?

Only 2290½ miles from Cedar Po!nt

Very well put Natalie! One other thing is that you are voted  the #1 amusement park, to quote Jeffery Spartan "for the quality of the rides not the quantity".

Six Flags can stack up the coaster count at MM, by saving money here at SF Astroworld, the black sheep of the family.  The Astroworld experience is so great that an amusement park fan like myself, ACE member, NAPHA member, Amusement Today subscriber, CedarFair and Disney stockholder, HO scale amusement park builder, Roller Coaster Tycoon player, who lives in Houston, has been to Kennywood more times in the last four years, than he has to Astroworld in the last 11.
