Cedar Point Boardwalk?

pointperson's avatar

For the past 3 summers my grandparents have been bugging me to take them to Cedar Point. I really told them that their is not much there for them but they still want to go considering its cheap for them to get in. She hasn't been there since Gemini opened and has no clue what a Dragster is. But I agreed to take them this year since I got a Platinum Pass and won't be at a loss of $40 if I can't ride. I was looking on Cp website and it say that their is a boardwalk. I never heard anything about a boardwalk? What is it? Where is it? Is it worth going to see?

It is simply the walkway on the beach between Breakers and the beach entrance. It can be scenic especially at sunset/sunrise. I highly recomd a trip with the grandparents though. When I went with my grandfather, it was one of the best trips I had because of how different it was from my typicall visits. Just slowing down and taking the time to just people watch or look at everything there is to see at cedar point is an underated jem.

Thanks I think I will definatly go and do that with them it sounds great to be able to take it all in and not to worry about the wait at Dragster. I'll still sneak a ride in. Just have too.

How about the Ballroom is that the one on top of the Arcade?

Yeah, the ballroom is on top of the arcade and can be accessed with the stairs on the side. Although there's not much to see about it now, perhaps your grandparents will come up with good stories about it from way long ago.

Can you really go inside the doors and look around or simply peer thru the windows?

GAM man 68's avatar

As long as nothing is going on, you can go inside and look around all you want I'm pretty sure.

No, during halloweekends thats where the screamsters get all done up i believe, so it's not open then. But besides then it's open.

Everytime I go up there on the steps, the doors are locked. I just peek in and see an open floor and a stage on one end. But my friend told me that the doors are not locked and you could go in. But, whatever...I just don't wanna get yelled at when I'm in there.

I walked through it one time and took some pictures. A couple employees walked by and never said anything.

No, you won't get yelled at, unless of course you are doing something illegal. I encourage people to go check it out, it is an important part of Cedar Point history

Actually the person on here that I would really love to hear from is Tony. Hey Tony, are we allowed to visit the ballroom when there are no events going on?

Ha ha just what I wanna know too. My friend worked there at CP and has been inside, there are restrooms in some corner in there somewhere, and she said they sometimes prepare costumes for halloween or live E shows. The only thing I know is her stories and my sister worked there and she went in to pick up her check there too once.
