Cedar Point (and possibly Cedar Fair) going wireless?

You trust the local news channels? Yikes!

I'm sorry that me liking to keep in touch with my friends irritates you dj. But you know what, in the past two years I've made maybe 3 calls back to my friends here in NE Indiana from CP, that's over 16 days in the park the past two seasons and just 3 calls.

I don't care how much you use it.

I don't think Cedar Point should have this INSIDE the park. In hotels its fine, I don't mine that. Eventually it will be everywhere in every state I think. I know in Michigan, I think in 2008 we are suppose to be wireless everywhere in Michigan, I was reading something like that. I have wireless here (that I paid for, Paid for the Wireless Router, and Wireless Adapters), and its very easy to setup. I really like it. I just don't want people to be on their laptops and hold up the lines because they don't want to leave their laptops at the station or take it on the ride. People are already pissing me off for holding up line while talking on their cell phones (even though I overhear their conversations some are funny, some are serious). I'm a person that think Cell Phones should be banned while driving, just because so many people cut me off so many times while I was driving because they weren't looking and they were talking on their cell phones. It pisses me off.

Weather Channel, never trust them with anything local. That's what the local news stations are for.

Very true, they could say storms for the next day, 20 minutes later they will say it will be sunny.

I don't think I have ever seen them say anything lower than 30% chance of rain on the local forcast. Every day there's a 30% chance of rain. Ben, I'd trust the local stations before the Weather Channel. Yet one more good thing having wireless in the park will allow me to do, get some reliable radar in the park if the weather starts looking questionable.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

i think its great they're getting wi-fi in the park. there are a LOT of people that can't go on "vacation" unless they are tied to the office in some way. and, with all the new mobile devices with wi-fi built in, they can use their blackberry and/or moto Q to work. to you that may not seem like a vacation. but, if you had the choice of taking work to CP or not going to CP at all, i think you'd take the work. i know i would.

Per cedarpoint.com's FAQ section:
Do you have internet connections available to guests staying at the Cedar Point Resorts properties?
Yes, Wi-Fi internet connections are available in the lobbies of all Cedar Point Resort properties. Dial-up internet access is available in some rooms of Cedar Point’s Resort properties. Please call 419.627-2106 for more information.

I used it in Breakers Express the night before this year's CoasterMania. While I had to move a chair to get near a wall outlet (my laptop has crappy battery life), it was free! *** Edited 6/21/2006 2:49:17 AM UTC by CoastersNSich***

MOO!!!

There is an access point on the 10th floor of the Breakers as well as in the main lobby of the Breakers. Works great. It was unadvertised, however we usually take our laptops everywhere. It was neat to pick it up and be able to watch live radar of the storms going through.

You just have you click throught the end user aggrement before access is granted.

I kind of like the idea, and I kind of don't. It has it's goods and bads, ofcourse.

I think they should concentrate on the hotels and employee housing, before in-park usage.

But that's just my opinion.
