CP is a regional park. Most guests that visit there each year probably drove less than 5 hours to get there. The Orlando parks draw a worldwide crowd. I see CP commercials here in NE OH, but I never see Kings Island or other park commercials here.

What Thabto said. Walt Disney World, for several reasons, is the single most popular tourist destination on the planet. Cedar Point is not.
I have to assume that your assertion that half the cars in the parking lot being from out of state or country is anecdotal, coasterblu. Or are you at the park, every day of the operating season, in the parking lot, cataloging license plates?

Why are people on this forum so literal?
A) It's not really necessary to quote the post immediately above yours. We're a pretty savvy bunch and can make the connection without assistance.
B) I can't speak for the forum.
Speaking for myself: words have meanings. When you say that half the cars in the parking lot are "from out of state and country", I'm going to take you at your word: half the cars in the parking lot are from out of state and country. If you don't mean what you say, don't say it.
In my opinion, Cedar Point has enough status that it reaches out of its regular advertised areas. With how connected people are now a days and how well online marketing works, it's no surprise that people in the farther areas of the US (and around the world) know of Cedar Point via word of mouth or otherwise. However, I don't think you're going to find advertising beyond where they usually market. While you're sure to find some plates from pretty far out, I don't think they make up enough of the repeat attendance (or whatever the term is) to justify spending advertising money in those states.
Just my 2 cents......
