Cedar Point Advertising

How much does CP advertise? How far out do they reach? I thought of this when I saw an advertisement for Orlando Florida just now. I am in New York, and have never seen any CP advertisements out here.

CP is a regional park. Most guests that visit there each year probably drove less than 5 hours to get there. The Orlando parks draw a worldwide crowd. I see CP commercials here in NE OH, but I never see Kings Island or other park commercials here.

I have countless friends from school who have been to CP. I see people wearing CP gear fairly often. Could CP become a national or international park if it wanted to? I mean, half of the cars in the parking lots are from out of state and country.

No. First, CP does not have movie and animation studios which really helps boost the popularity of Disney parks and CP is a seasonal park located in a place that's not a popular vacation destination.

What Thabto said. Walt Disney World, for several reasons, is the single most popular tourist destination on the planet. Cedar Point is not.

I have to assume that your assertion that half the cars in the parking lot being from out of state or country is anecdotal, coasterblu. Or are you at the park, every day of the operating season, in the parking lot, cataloging license plates?

Why are people on this forum so literal?

A) It's not really necessary to quote the post immediately above yours. We're a pretty savvy bunch and can make the connection without assistance.

B) I can't speak for the forum.

Speaking for myself: words have meanings. When you say that half the cars in the parking lot are "from out of state and country", I'm going to take you at your word: half the cars in the parking lot are from out of state and country. If you don't mean what you say, don't say it.

You just said that you are a bright one, but can't seem to figure out when somebody is using a hyperbole? I guess that you've never heard a real life conversation. Learn to loosen up.

Got it. You don't mean what you say, as you're being "sarcastic".

It's a little troubling how you're so hostile about advertising on TV and noticing license plates.

You brought up the license plates. How am I being hostile by expecting you to stand behind what you say?

Why are you criticizing someone for saying a simple thing such as that? I have never met someone like you before. Just stop taking everything to literally and relax.

Have you honestly never heard somebody say something like "Half of my workplace...", "Half of the birds here...", etc.? I do mean what I say, you just need to stop, think, calm down, and drop it.

You seem like a troll. I'm going to go do something social now. Goodbye.

One more post, what is the furthest away that any of you have seen a CP advertisement?

In my opinion, Cedar Point has enough status that it reaches out of its regular advertised areas. With how connected people are now a days and how well online marketing works, it's no surprise that people in the farther areas of the US (and around the world) know of Cedar Point via word of mouth or otherwise. However, I don't think you're going to find advertising beyond where they usually market. While you're sure to find some plates from pretty far out, I don't think they make up enough of the repeat attendance (or whatever the term is) to justify spending advertising money in those states.

Just my 2 cents......
