Cedar Point- Breakers Express

I am coming to cedar point at least twice this season and
will be staying at breakers express. Since this hotel is less
money- i will guess the cedar point standards for hotel
care are the same as the breakers and sandcastle? Have a
nice day.

BE is a very nice hotel.

Well, both times I have stayed at BE, I was VERY disapointed. The standards are not the same imo, and the price difference between BE and Breakers or Sandcastle is well worth the money (night and day). All of the CP properties are overpriced, and honestly offer below standard services, based on the price (no in room coffee?). You pay through the nose for the location, and get a Comfort Inn quality room with similar service.

I go twice a year and consistently stay at Sandcastle (my fav), since I've tried all properties.

That's interesting. The only time we stayed at Sandcastle, we were disappointed. It wasn't necessarily a bad room, I just expect so much more from an all-suites hotel. Breakers Express, however, is a great value and a nice room, especially if you're just looking to crash after a long day.

No in-room coffee? Odd, considering that is so commonplace these days. Also quite possibly a deal-breaker for me, sadly enough. I'm thinking we'll be staying at LHP this summer.

Brandon

DJ - Yup, and that was at Breakers as well. We had to go to the lobby for "free" coffee and it was Dowe Egbert product (Which is a liquid coffee concentrate) YIKES!

Walt, I agree, Sandcastle was a bit sparse, but being on the water, private deck, and grill made up for the lack of ammenities. I think it's the best value in the park.

Both times I stayed at BE the room was not clean, AND we found stuff in the bathroom from a previous guest (arg - gross). The entire experience at BE was VERY disapointing, sub par, and makes the Fairfield Inn in Sandusky look like a Ritz Carlton.

I think you're talking about Lighthouse Point. Sandcastle has a balcony, but no deck or grill. If that's the case, I'm no longer confused by your first post. :)

I also just realized that I really need to work on my resort photography. :)

Towards the later half of the season last year coffee makers were put into all rooms at Express. http://resorts.cedarpoint.com/public/resorts/index.cfm?resort_id=1"]http://http://resorts.cedarpoint.com/public/resorts/index.cfm?resort_id=1 I'm guesssing someone finally realized that they were pretty much standard everywhere BUT CP. Now whether its working is another thing....

Thanks, thats good to know. I'm surprised they weren't in there from the start, seeing as how the standard fare coffee maker for hotel rooms probably costs about $5 in bulk.

We have stayed at Breakers Express a couple of times, both times we had no problems with the room everything seemed clean anyway. The only time we were not happy with our room was at Sandcastle, cobb webs in the corners of the ceiling, dirty bathtub, but it was taken care of so it was alright.Everytime we were there last season we stayed at Lighthouse Point, thats the wifes favorite.

My wife and I stay at various CP Resorts during the year. Over the past 10 plus years that we have been going I can only recall one or two bad experiences. One was a faulty toilet and the other was just simply an old room. House keeping fixed the toilet and as far as the old room goes, we knew that going in. I think the room may have even been less than a hundred dollars even. In general, for the the location and convenience, you can not beat any of CP Resorts.

We stay at BE everytime we go, and have not had a problem to speak of yet.

Outside of the pool and hot tub being filled past what I would consider capacity in the summer, we liked our stay.

Sure it isn't castaway bay, but I'm just looking for inexpensive accomadations that are close and clean.

We always stayed in a suite at Breakers East, and coffee makers were in the room since day one from what I remember.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Pete,
I think they are talking about Breakers Express, not East.

Here I go again...

Lighthouse Point Cabins & Cottages are the best way to go. It's like camping with a hotel room that has multiple rooms. You've got the grill, less noise than a hotel, more privacy, a beautiful view. Bring an electric skillet and you've got eggs & bacon in the morning. Staying there has many benefits, including saving on food costs.

Getting up and seeing them pound Mean Streak back into place is fun, too. That, and hearing the test runs begin on TTD and MF. Sheesh, I can't wait for May 19th--my arrival date!

I'll have to second that motion. We're staying at LHP opening and second weekends (at least thats the current plan). Its rather nice to step outside in the morning to get some fresh air and you can almost feel the electricity in the air and feel the park (and those around you) starting to wake up. The cabins work especially well if you have a larger group going.

Funny you should put it that way, Jugga. My brother and I have said the same thing on those mornings..."It's coming alive..."

The same may be said for listening to the park go to sleep. Though it really never sleeps, there is stuff going on all night long.

And then head fast as hell to the Magnum entrance. Nothing like walking into an empty park!

Never noticed the "going to sleep" feeling for the park, mostly because I'm usually dead tired and a "pop" or two when I get back to the cabin and cook hot-dogs usually has me wiped out.

Every time ive gone ive stayed at lighthouse point, you cant beat it,quiet ,no noise above while your trying to sleep, like kids running around at 2am in the middle of the night, and the sounds of the rides, especially mean streak.

LHP is the best. I've been twice and stayed in a cabin both times. I love them! Nothing better than being up in the loft and throwing things down at the snoring people on the foutons.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
