Cedar Point -- Weight Loss Edition!!

Just wondering what experiences others have had with weight loss at Cedar Point. I was a ride op in 2002, and lost more than 20 pounds.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Every year I drop numerous pant sizes by the end of the summer. Last year was probably the most significant. I started the summer at barely a size 38 and by the end of summer I was wearing a 32 that was extremely spacious. Sort of excited to see what this year brings since I'm working at Sky Ride all season, gotta get rid of my Junior 15.

Wow! Liebevision! I'm surprised to hear you gained weight working at the park! Especially 3 sizes?

I would think you would gain more than you lose after going out a lot and eating cafeteria food & food in the park. I know there will be a lot of standing and walking around though being a ride op.

Yeah when I started I had a 28 inch waist and when I left I had a 31 inch waist.

Now I'd give anything to have that 31 inch waist back.

We have the one of the best dining halls in the country, but everything's one big buffet of all you can eat goodness (or badness in my case).

I dropped about 40 pounds when I worked there in 08. I had one season as a Screamster (06 I think) where I dropped 25 pounds just during Halloweekends. That year I was basically doing suicide sprints for 4 hours a night.

Wow that's a lot! Well I'm a 34 waist trying to get back down to a 30 before I start working.

I dropped 40 while working there too. It's easier to lose weight because you can only eat on a schedule and not when you feel like it. Not to mention, somebody on my crew wore a step counter and it said she walked 12 miles in one day. You really don't realize the amount of walking you do, but it's significant enough to shed some weight. Most of the time when I would go out with my crew, I would rarely be hungry, but if I was, I would immediately burn it the next day at work.

Wow that's a lot of walking but it's good for you. I'm pretty sure I will lose weight now!

Not to mention all the sweating you'll do during the summer months. Keep a water bottle handy.
