i want to live in cedar dorm but i dont know when it opens.

Shoot, this most likely applies for Gold too. Would I be able to transfer? I want to live in Gold but I am going to be arriving on May 10

Gold and Cedars don't open until at least Memorial Day weekend, usually later. This most likely is because there's no heat and it can still get pretty cold at night that time of year. You can transfer from another housing unit after they open.
