Well I am for one in favor of this. I love the picture now only if it comes to light.
Positives that I see:
* Faster and easier load times.
* No more mutliple bar lock and re-lock, bar lock and re-lock, bar lock and re-lock, nonsense.because of peoples lack of paying attention.
* For me a 6'5" person finally complete comfort instead of readjustments.
The last positive I should beable to know cause I enjoy for the most part Gemini trains as I have had 3 years of Coasting For Kids under my belt.
I have kinda wondered, how difficult is it to move a train from one coaster to another? I know it is done occasionally. Voyage had trains from Raven put on when the Timberliners were not ready in time, though they had to have some modification.
But are the tracks pretty standard in manufactures or would there be re-engineering and modifications needed to the framework to allow a switch of trains?
I am sure a park like Cedar Point would have the resources in-house to do any modifications but how about some of the smaller parks? Would they have to send the trains out to get the engineering and modifications done?

I believe the Gemini and Mine Ride tracks are exactly the same. I'm not sure about the body width, if they are the same or not. That picture of the Gemini train on Mine Ride was interesting, but the body style seems very out of place on a ride themed as a mine ride.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Trailblazer got new trains? When did that happen? It's been awhile.
I'm pretty sure Arrow track is the same gauge, so the placement of wheels on trains wouldn't be a constraint. However, different trains have different abilities in terms of steering, and probably pitch, so that comes into play. I assume that brake fin placement isn't uniform, but that's just a guess.

I'd imagine they would make a few comestic changes in terms of color and the like, although often the park seems to be only marginally interested in things like consistency of theme/tone. I hope they take this opportunity to do something nice with the refurbished trains.

I agree. Gemini's trains look too modern for Mine Ride.

As long as the track gauge and other requisite measures sync up between Gemini trains and CCMR track, the appearance of the trains is a minor detail. Those can easily be modified to fit the theme in-house.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Gemini trains do not fit the theming of mine ride at all if they are left as the red and blue colors. I would sure hope that they would at least paint them black or brown.
I just went to screamscape to see what they said about the picture, I didn't realize it was a real photo. I thought it was cropped or something. I thought the rumor was crazy at first but thats proof that there at least trying it out.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
There's special paint available now that can cover fiberglass and plastic. A little sanding and primer before the paint, with new decals on the front car and side panels.
The picture is probably legit...when we were at the Northern Ohio ACE event in early December, we had an off-season tour and saw two Gemini cars "parked" at the base of the Mine Ride lift, as if the first car had engaged the lift chain. We were looking from a distance, at the Shoot the Rapids viewing patio, but it was a strange site to see.
I'd love to see a train into which "guests of exceptional size" have an easier time fitting, as my girls are now old enough to ride the Mine Ride and I might be able to go with them. But if it happens, count me among the folks hoping they would re-theme the train to match the ride.
Quite possible they were just testing a theory about train size?
Yes, they were on the track. But again, we were only looking from a distance. Two cars, with the first one just started up the base of the lift. They were parked, not moving.
At the time, I was puzzled for a moment, but then realized, "Ah ha...both Arrow Dynamics coasters; probably the same gauge and car size."
Intersting. I'm all for this change-up to Gemini trains, they're pretty comfortable. Just paint them an earth-tone, rustic color and it'll look fine!
This is a great example for those who completely trash Screamscape for bogus reports. So many times they are the FIRST to report something that is true, so kudos to them for the Mine Ride/Gemini train report. Plus, I love going on Screamscape for photo updates of new coasters and developments at parks across the world...why anyone would rip on this is beyond me.
With that said, I never had an issue with the Mine Ride trains and love the look of them. This is very interesting. If memory serves me right, the Gemini train seats are individual and pretty tight, where as the Mine ride seats are wide open for two riders where you slide into your riding partner on turns. So, not sure I understand the logic unless it's a security measure.
When you print everything, of course you'll be right once in a while. It doesn't validate their news "reporting" though.

I've submitted bogus stuff to him before under a pseudonym. Does anyone remember all of the rumors about a CP boardwalk? I orchestrated all of that. None of it was ever real, but it was plausible enough that people believed it.

I love it. We should have a contest to see who can get the most ridiculous nonsense added to the site.
It also demonstrates why things need to be taken with a grain of salt. Sure this one was right, but it also came with photographic evidence; I cant see how anyone with any capability of logic can point to that as proof of the site's overall legitimacy.
I remember back in June or July when a 2012 coaster was still a (theoretical) possibility, he posted a rumor about how we were getting not one, but TWO coasters in 2012 & the park was 'hiding' the construction evidence.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
Geez....They supply photographic evidence that Gemini trains are on the Mine Ride, and you still can't give them kudos? They were also the first site to show evidence that the Soak City slides were getting painted. Then, yesterday, they posted the first video footage I have seen of the DInosaur project. And you say they don't have a legit site???? As far as rumors, I think they do a good job of stating "take this one with a grain of salt," or "does anyone else know more", for example. They rarely come out and say that XYZ park is DEFINITELY getting XYZ attraction next year. They state it's just a rumor or even a crazy rumor. You guys act like everything supplied to them is garbage. I've been viewing incredible photo updates/links all season long on Leviathan, Verbolten, WIld Eagle, Skyrush, and all the new coasters of 2012.....great stuff. What other site offers that?
