Cedar Creek Mine Ride?

Who thinks that the Cedar Creek Mine Ride should be demolished. It's not really that popular(except for beginners like kids),and from experience is one of the the most boring rides I've ever ridden. I think that a nice flying coaster (or something that does inversions) should go in it's place, something that's still Frontiertown themed.

I feel the need, the need for speed!.......120 mph that is.

I think flying coasters are boring. They don't go fast enough and there's no "thrill" in my opinion.

I mean, if it doesn't go at least 80mph, what's the point?

As long as they play around with that lagoon still, I don't mind what they put in there. I do, however, enjoy the slower pace of CCMR. It allows one to really soak up the environment with a little more stimulation that sitting on a bench.

Iron Dragon's Syrita Rocks :)

If CP were to take out CCMR, then what other smaller coasters would they have for the younger kids just getting into them? There would be Blue Streak, Disaster Transport, CorkScrew, Iron Dragon and Woodstock Express. But with Corkscrew, some people don't like going upside down. I like the Mine Ride, its a fun little thing in the back of the park and its good for the little kids who can't yet ride the larger coasters.

My mom (who goes once a year) loves the Mine Ride and tries to hit it every year she goes. Although she is not a person who loves the big thrills, she still loves the Mine Ride, and I like it too. Its very relaxing.

If it's not really all that popular, then why does the line typically extend halfway down the ramp with the station packed full and three trains operating?

Even though I really enjoy the high-thrill coasters, CCMR should never be taken down (unless there is some safety or structural integrity concern). It is a good ride, and as previously stated, keeps the entire family happy especially those who can't ride TTD, MF, Raptor, etc.

If it an't broke, don't fix it!

I think they should demolish the whole park and start over with only mega-hyper-super-looper roller coasters. Oh, maybe put in a vending machine between the exit and entrance of each ride so I can grab dinner as I run to get in line again. Real thrill seekers don't have time to stop to eat, so there's no need to waste valuable coaster space with food stands.

I don't fit in CCMR comfortably anymore because my legs are too long. But I used to enjoy it, so no it shouldnt be torn down. I do agree, though, that something with a few inversions should be their next major project. Right now they only have 3 coasters with loops; Raptor, Mantis, and Corkscrew. Unfortunately I doubt they'll go for a floorless since they just bought SFWoA with TCFKAB:KF. And flyers don't really hold alot of loops either, and of course SFWoA has XFlight. So I dunno what the next logical step is.

But then again, what do I know?

CCMR was my first coaster at CP. It brings back memories of the days I was frightened to go on ID even. So I say keep it. Long live the mine ride!

Walt, that is a wonderful idea... I'll go grab my buldozer and wrecking ball! *rolls eyes* The sad thing is some people would actually think that a better park. I'd like to put my little note on the flying coasters... if they were to build a monster flyer, one that was as tall as say magnum, and went 70 miles an hour, it would be freaking awesome! But the current versions of flyers are a bit lackluster when it comes to speed. I think they are the coaster with the most untaped potential

Gemini,

Your "jest" is now apparent. I am out of beer.

Tis a sad time when that happens.

Try going around a curve flying at 80 mph..... I'm guessing that wouldn't feel too good

CCMR should stay. It's a great entry level coaster and non-thrill fans can handle it too. Every ride doesn't need to be geared toward the thrill enthusiast.

For a ride that was built in 1969 I believe, it runs pretty well. It has a perfect location, fitting in well with the area.

A flyer would be great, even though they are slower, the sensations are quite entertaining. I agree the CCMR area would nicely fit a flyer, but if you put anything in that wooded area and it will look nice.

Looking at Seth's overhead shot of Cedar Point. There are many possibilties from P&D between Mean Streak and Gemini, and MF's lift hill. The whole stripe of land has potential. I personlly would rather have the frontier trail and frontiertown left alone. As for CCMR, I'm sure maintenacne won't miss it.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

I think they should keep CCMR as well. Didn't they announce that Michigan Adventure was removing their Corkscrew coaster? That in my opinion would be the coaster to remove. Gemini also has short lines, but I would like to see them turn one train backwards and race one forward and one backward. As for a flying coaster, are we forgetting that we are talking about CP here? The park that always builds them bigger and faster. I would love to see what CP would do for a flyer.

Oh, come on now. You honestly have time to stop at a vending machine between the exit and the entrance? Those machines should be IN the queue. ;)

No, They didn't announce MiA was removing their corkscrew. They wouldn't remove the Corkscrew at CP.. It's quite the signature ride... Plus what are you going to build in such a small footprint?

Why would you tear it down. CCMR gets more riders than MS. I don't think a flyer would look good or even fit (theming wise) in that section of the park.
