Castaway Bay opening

Cedar Point has been a little unclear on when exactly Castaway Bay is opening. They announced it will be opening on November 5th for overnight guests. However, they haven't specified a time - does anyone know any info that I don't?

Also, we know that the park is only for the guests staying overnight. Now, does this mean that I have to be in one of "new Castaway Bay" rooms, or can I be staying in a room in the hotel that night? Again, does anyone know anything I don't about that?

Thanks a lot,

-Josh

I've actually never visited the Great Wolf Lodge, but does this mean that I can't be staying in one of the Radisson rooms, even though they're in the same building?

There will be no more Radisson rooms, or Radisson name. The entire hotel complex will be Castaway Bay, anyone in any room can use the water park.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Oh, wow. I definately missed that memo. So, they haven't taken out rooms, have they?

No, the rooms are still there, as is all of the existing Radisson structure. It's been re-themed and converted to Castaway Bay, and a huge addition to hold the water park and other things has been added to the complex.

Yeah, didn't you get that memo?

I'll go ahead and make sure you get a copy of that memo, ok? Yeah...Thanks Peter! *** Edited 8/26/2004 10:20:13 PM UTC by Seth Oakley***

Did you see the memo? No, we've done away with the TPS Reports. I'll go ahead and just get you another copy of that memo. Mkay?

-Evan Hendrick

I could burn the place down :)
UH...Yeah.... I was just wondering if you got the memo on that 15 pieces of flair is only the minimum and that we encourage you to wear more than 15 pieces of flair. Mkay?

I wonder how it will compare to Great Wolf Lodge? Never been there because most of the people that I hang out with are older and hate kids. I guess it's time for new friends :-)
Isn't it called the Great Bear Lodge? Maybe we should compare memos on that. *** Edited 8/27/2004 8:01:53 PM UTC by crashoverride***

Actually, I just found out about that too. They must have been on the same memo.

Must of.. I don't know why they didn't just call it Great Wolf Lodge in the beginning.

The rates aren't exactly cheap: http://castawaybay.cedarpoint.com/public/rates.cfm

I haven't compared the rates to those of Great Wolf Lodge, But they're probably inline with Castaway Bay's in order to remain competitive. The Cedar Point park maps all have $75-$100 off on stays (depending on the month) Sunday thru Thursday.

Is anyone actually planning a trip to Castaway Bay this winter/next spring?

They're more I believe.

I checked the price of the rooms there, and yeah, they're pretty expensive, but yes, there are the discounts given on the park maps as well as the Getaway Guides.

Is anyone planning on going opening weekend?

If someone wants to take me, sure. Otherwise it's up to the parrents.
