Ok guys just a warning, this may ramble. ;) This was the first trip of the year for my Kids and I, it was also my daughter's 8th grade trip. My Son Trevor 15, my Daughter Katie 13, her friend Stephany 14, and Myself left Lincoln Park Mi., just South of Detroit, at Noon sharp on Wed. the 14th. We had a late start because the kids had a half day of school, their last day. As I said above it was the girls 8th grade trip, the rest of the kids were coming down on buses the morning of the 15th, so they were really excited. We were making pretty good time going south on I75, except for a little backup around Monroe, I hate construction. I had decided to take 75 all the way down to the turnpike, to avoid the whole I280 debockale (sp). As we are moving from 75 onto the turnpike it becomes apparent that there is a HUGE backup on the turnpike, turns out a bus and a semi got tangled up, so that made our usual 1 hour and 45 minute drive into a 3 hour one, ugh. We arrived at Castaway Bay at around 3pm, our room was ready for us, a Tarpon suit bayview, with one king sized bed for me and two sets of bunkbeds for the kids. The front desk staff were absolutly wonderfull, props. to them, they got us all set up with our waterpark wristbands, directions to our room, and our CP tickets for the next day. We got settled in our room and hit the waterpark, which was fun as always, till about 6pm.
We all met back at the room and changed for dinner. We walked down to TGI Friday's and sat on the deck and had a great meal. I wish I could remember the servers name, she did a great job and gave the kids free refills on there blue raspberry slushies and virgin strawberry daquaries (sp). As I was sitting there enjoying my XL long island iced tea, hey I had a long day, and I wasn't driving LOL, I looked up and low and behold there was the project 2007 track right there in front of me, directly accross the bay, later I would notice I could also see it from my room, duh. So, we finished our dinner, and the girls were going to hit the arcade, Trevor and I decided to take a little walk over and check out the track. Thinking there wouldn't really be anything new I didn't bother to go to the room and get the camera, duh again, because of course there is a big old pile of supports lying there. Well I whip out my trusty camera phone and snap a few shots, thinking that this will be a huge scoop when I get home and send them to Walt to post on the site, I felt like I was on Mission Impossable or something, I know I am a dork.:) If I would have had his e-mail address with me I could have sent them to him directly from the Phone, but of course I didn't have it. Anyway, after that Trev and I went to the water park for a couple more hours, met the girls for ice cream, and went to bed early, we had a big day tomarrow and wanted to get some sleep.
6:30 AM wake up call, boy that's early, but I have 2 teenaged girls with me that have to "get ready" which could take hours if it wasn't for me saying "come on girls lets go", of course Trev only takes about 15 minutes to get his sh*t together so I got him up at 7:30. We get to the Marina gate at 8:30 and we are the first in line, yeeeeha, and armed with our resort ERT passes we are primed to be in the first train of the day on MF. The older lady working the gate tells us how to hold our tickets so she can scan them the fastest, this lady was to funny and very helpfull by the way, again I wish I could remember her name, she is from Sandusky. She was ready and during the last few bars of the anthom she scans our tickets and we are off and running. Now keep in mind, I am 41 years old and I SMOKE, I know nasty habit, so I am having trouble keeping up with 13, 14, and 15 year old kids who all run track, as well as play; football, swim team, wrestling ect. Trevor comes in first, closely followed be me, thank you very much, then Katie and Stephany. So here we are first in line for MF and we are geeked, they let us into the Q at about 9:10 and Trevor and I are in the front seats of the first train of the day, Katie and Steph were in the 3rd row, it was Steph's first time on MF and that was as close to the front as she wanted to be, poor Katie. :( First ride was so awsome that we ran around and rode it again, then we took off for TTD. It was 9:30 now and we could hear the last few notes of God Bless America being played as we rounded the corner by Coasters heading for TTD and we knew we would be in pretty good shape as far as beating the GP to the line. We ended up in line about 50 feet back from the entrance, not bad considering the Q wasn't open yet and we allready rode MF twice. :) We stood there and watched it test for a while and at about 10:10 they let us in, Trev and I decided to wait for the front seats on the front loading station, we were about 4 trains back in the line. This is when we met Jenny, she is the coolest ride op I have ever met, we talked about many things but the highlight was when the first loaded launch of the day got a rollback, everyone was cheering and clapping and Jenny had to go out and ask if there was anyone who wanted to get off the train, this one guy raises his hand and says he wants to get off. Jenny later told me that she explained to him that they would have to roll the train back into the station for him to get off. After some words of encouragement from her, and a lot of teasing from the people on the train, and the platform he decided to stay on :) After a few more launches, and another rollback, it was our turn, now keep in mind we had allready been in the front seats of MF and now we were in the front of TTD, all before 10:30 AM, now thats a way better way to wake up then coffee. We climed in and told Jenny we wanted a rollback, she said she would try, but couldn't promise anything ;) Well, no rollback but still a great ride, and we met a ride op that reminded us of why Cedar Point is so special, because to the people who work there it's not just a job, they actualy care if your having a good time.
I will put the rest of our day into a kind of summary.
Millie; 2 rides, front seat, ran great most of the day, did see it stuck on the lift for a while but it was back up and running in no time. No wait with ERT
TTD; 2 rides, front seat, was running all day, highlight was meeting Jenny, great ride op, she must have worked open to close, saw her at 10 AM and 10 PM, nightime station spiels were very funny, was our last ride of the night also, very cool at night, station is being run much better, limiting the number of people on the platform. Waited 1/2 hour in AM, 20 min. in PM.
Maggie; Seemed to be running a little rough, could have been because it was also running very fast :) New paint looks great. Station was packed and disorganised. 1/2 hour wait most of the day.
Raptor; Still rules the sky, 15 min wait in the PM, was there to meet up with Eleazer in afternoon but didn't find each other.
Mantis; Station spiel was very funny in the afternoon, that guy deserves some type of award. 20 min. wait
Rock the House, at the Red Garter; good show, band is great, vocals could use a little work. They sounded just like Motley Crew doing Home Sweet Home untill female vocals took over, Crew just doesn't sound right with a female singer. Male singer has the first part of the song down pat. Beer was nice and cold.
Power Tower; got shot up, got shot down, no wait either way.
Last Chance Saloon; Macho Nachos were awsome.
Famous Daves; Great dinner, ribs were excellent, Katie had the chicken ceaser, said it was great, sweet tea was very refreshing. No wait for seating at 6pm.
Castaway Bay; Front desk girls were great, very helpfull, thanks for the toothpicks ;) Some of the lifegaurds were a little grumpy, seeing that it was pretty dead in there, maybe 50 people, they could have smiled once in a while, there was one guy who was manning the tall open indoor slide that kept shooting everybody with the little water cannon thing, he was a lot of fun, kids had a ball with him.
Hot summer lights; nice show, my kids are starting to get a little old for it, would rather get in that last ride on TTD, so we did.
Gemini; blue train was having a bad day, kept breaking down, not the same when there is no one to race. 15 min. wait
WT; 3, 2, launch, yea she got me, very fun ride as always. 20 min. wait
Well, there is a summery of another great trip to the Point. I am sure I forgot a lot of stuff, I know I have, anyway that is what the edit button is for, and BTW don't rag on my spelling, I did my best. ;)

That sounded like a great time. Short waits, front seat on MF and TTD all before 10:30 wow!
New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!
Yes, it was a great time, short wait times all day, longest waits were for Maggie, oddly enough. The weather was also great, mid 70's and tons of sun all day, nice breeze off the lake also.

Interesting that they were packing the Magnum Station, they werent a few days earlier when I was there. I forgot to mention in my trip report, the first train with people on dragster also rolled back on 6/12 when I was there. Just a coincidence, or does the computer get confused after all the test runs or something and dosent give it enough juice? Anyone know?
Jason, thats what I was thinking too, it was making it over all through testing then as soon as they loaded it, rollback. Then they tried not loading the back two rows for a few trains and it was making it over fine, then as soon as they ran a full load it rolled back again. Then for our train they didn't load the back 3 rows and we made it over. Then a little later in the day they were running full trains again with no probs.? I have no idea?

Yeah I was waiting at the turnstiles to the station when I saw the first loaded train rollback, and I got it on video with my phone because last time I was there, (Sunday May 7th), the first loaded train rolledback also. So I am starting to think that if you want a rollback, all you need to do is be on the first train of the day.
1)TTD 2)MF 3)Magnum 4)WT 5)Raptor
TTDboy, you must have been standing right behind me, I was wearing a green Jimmy Buffett t-shirt and my 15 year old son was wearing an orange polo shirt. We were in the front seat line at the very front of the station.
