Castaway Bay 3/10-3/11

I know there hasn't been a topic posted about Castaway Bay lately, and I thought I'd give a review of my night spent there. I went with my friend Clarissa and her mom.

We arrived around noon-ish on Friday, and our room was ready. Since I work nights, I took a nap while they went down to the waterpark. I woke up in time to go take some pictures with my new camera (Canon S2-IS - They'll be posted online shortly). My first impression was that I was pretty impressed. It was a very cool setup. It was hotter than heck in there, however, and the humidity quickly fogged my camera up. I snapped a few pictures, and then walked around and got wet for a bit, but then I decided I was tired so I went back up to the room.

The room was nice, however it wasn't the biggest. The water pressure in the shower sucked, and the drain was even worse. That would be my biggest complaint about this whole place.

We went to Chet and Matts for dinner which was really good, then we picked up a friend from Sandusky and brought him to the waterpark. We rode all the slides, the water coaster, sat in the indoor and outdoor hot tub, did the wave pool, played basketball in the water, etc.

I took in some water while playing basketball in the pool with Brandon, and ended up sitting in a chair coughing it up for a while afterwards. One of the TL's came up to me (Larry) and asked me if I was alright. I also saw him keeping discarded life jackets and towels and what not picked up. I was impressed with the job he did. He's one of the employees there that 'gets it'.

Speaking of which, most of the employees 'get it' in regards to customer service, but there were some there that just made us feel like we were such a burden to them. Unfortunately, they do not get it. I think the customer service is a lot more important at CB than it is at CP. I think it makes a guest's day a lot better to have happy employees.

Generally speaking, most of them were very friendly and very helpful.

Anyway, we stayed until close, and then took Brandon home. Fast food is pretty scarce after Midnight in Sandusky, and I ended up settling for Taco Bell.

Woke up Saturday morning, and had the free buffet at Mango Mikes with my '06 Season Pass. It was a very good breakfast, and I quickly filled up on it. Clarissa and her mom forgot theri passes, and had to pay the $10 each, but I still think it was pretty worth it.

We went back to the waterpark for a bit on Saturday, but it was pretty crowded. Really, the only clientel at Castaway Bay is families, I noticed. It would be very nice if they added a section like bubbles of 18+ or 21+, as there are a lot of kids around. I personally like to sit in a hot tub without kids splashing me and kicking me. I believe that would be the single #1 improvement I could see adding to this place.

That's about it for my TR. I do want to say that the Canon Powershot S2-IS takes some really pretty pictures. Like I said, I will be posting those sometime this week.

Sounds like an ok trip. I think they figured if you wanted adult time, you will make an appointment at the spa.

Yeah, unfortunately the spa was booked solid. Clarissa and her mom thought ahead and made reservations for Friday afternoon. I wasn't as prepared, although that would be one way to get a nice relaxing dip in a hot tub.

There's some big-sized pictures of the WWL and Skyhawk areas from Battery Park that I'm sure some of you will go create conspiracy theories over.

You are supposed to offer the lady your coat....not make her stand there in a t-shirt and freeze. ;)

Nice shots of the park, interesting to see some "perspective" shots of skyhawk and how it affects the skyline.

Dude you know CP bombshell?? She is like the most freaking hot babe at the point. My buddies and I see her all the time in the park and at SC. Is she your girl or what?
