Hi,
I'm currently going through the interview process for ride operations, I was wondering if its safe to have a car while there. I don't want anything to happen to my car or anything to go missing. I live in Michigan so I would like to have it to be able to go home when possible and also to and from places? I don't know if its worth it to have a car at cedar point or not?

On the topic of cars, what is G$ parking? I've heard it mentioned before, but have no idea what it means >_>

It's the parking lot near the Gemini roller coaster. It's also near the Soak City / Hotel Breakers parking lot as well.

I think it's worth bringing your car. You can always take the bus to work to save from using gas. But having your own car there to run errands without having to wait for a bus or trying to make it to one will make it a lot easier. Plus it gives you the chance to go off on your own and explore places around Sandusky the buses don't go without using a taxi.
I had my car this summer... I can't imagine NOT having it. I took trips to other parks, was able to run errands, was always on time to work, never had to worry about relying on anyone to get me somewhere.

Not that I know of. Just don't leave money or valuables out in the open... That goes for anywhere though.

I would also recommend having a car while working at CP. It's just easier to run errands and to do things on your day off. It's also easier to get to work on time, and not have to rely on the bus. Like Theatc99 has said, don't have anything valuable visible. Also, take 2 seconds after you park your car and lock it.

I didn't have any problems at all. Weather it was in commons parking or the park lots. Having a car will be your best friend! Late night trips to wal-mart yeahhhh! Since you couldn't do any last minute things with the CP bus on their trips to wal-mart because its on their time not yours. Plus if for some odd reason you are running late its faster to take your car. I woke up at 8am once and had to be in at 8:25am (this normally does not happen to me. I slept right through my alarm). But I literally jumped out of my bed got ready and got to a time clock with 3 minutes to spare. Yeah having a car is desirable if you have access to one.

On a random note - one lesson that I learned last year was: Never walk across the bridge while wearing flip flops (on your day off). Yea, especially if you're a klutz. Well, let's just say I still have the scar from that.

Don't go flashing your keys around when you walk over the bridge either... Or you'll have 10+ people surrounding you asking for a ride. I've had complete strangers chase me while I was driving away. It's not that I'm rude and don't want to help out, but I'm not giving everyone a ride because they "just don't want to take the bus." One time, I had a girl who came up to me and said something like, "I'm really sorry and I hate having to do this but I'm running really late today and the bus left without me. May I have a ride?" Because of that, I said yes and gave her a ride. Things like that, I don't mind. Just don't surround me and hound me and expect me to give you something.

Yea, I have to agree. If you're polite or if I know you somehow, than yes, I can give you a ride. I remember there was a guy last year who just followed me to my car. After I got into my car he asked if I could have a ride. (I didn't have the slightest clue who he was). I just drove off and I didn't feel bad. So, it all depends on how you ask.

THIS! Happened to me almost every day, but I already had a car load of people from my crew that I had to take.
I never had that problem lol! I just looked down while passing everyone going on the bus and just awkwardly walked by.... Worked every time ;)But I was also early entry so not allot of people were out there at like 7:30 when I left if I was opening...

the worst that i've heard happening is people leaving their cars unlocked, and people just stealing cigs out of them.

"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a car is, you know. It's not just a chassis and wheels and a motor and brakes. That's what a car needs. But what a car is... what your car really is... is freedom." – Captain Jack Sparrow??
Seriously, it's no different than any other parking lot, take the same precautions there that you would anywhere else, but BRING YOUR CAR. Good lord if you can bring your car bring it.
Without your car you are at the mercy of the buses. And that is a nightmare. Some people drink the loser cruiser kool-aid, but it really is bad. Especially if you ever want to leave the peninsula. I wouldn't have made it through the season if I didn't have my car to get the hell away on days off, or even just go to wal-mart or meijer without having to be on the buses schedule.
