canadas wonderland

Every summer for the last 4 years I try to go to a new amusment park. This year I was wondering about canadas wonderland because I have a platinum pass, and was wondering if anyone has been there and if it was a good park, or should I look at going to another park?

I've been about 10 times in my life. It's got a nice collection of coasters and some pretty unique flats. The water park isn't half bad either. Plus the park atmosphere is very enjoyable. Beware the crowds though. You have to remember that Wonderland is the only major amusement park in Ontario and the GTA has a population of 7 million people. There are consistantly long lines throughout the summer. If possible try and visit in May or early to mid June during the week. Any time after that you're looking at lines much longer than you've seen at Cedar Point.

Canada's Wonderland is the one park that I did not like in Cedar Fair's chain. I went for the Behemoth opening in 2008, and although this coaster was fun, everything else was very disappointing. The crowd was moderate sized, but the loading was horrible. The crew's were annoying and rude and left several seats open in rides, when the platforms were full.

Of course, this was opening day, so it could have progressed throughout the season, but I actually enjoyed Michigan's Adventure better than Canada. (Sad to say).

In my opinion, Kings Dominion and Kings Island are the only parks that try to come close in comparison to CP.

Ah yes the operations at Wonderland. I forgot about that. Nothing like I've ever seen at any other Cedar Fair property. I skipped out on the park in 2009 so I don't know if there were any improvements. I think the biggest reason the lines move so slow is the crappy operations. From what I saw on Behemoth the crew was semi-professional but the rest of the rides were sub-subpar. Even the foodservice was terrible. I remember eating at Manchu Wok (something like Panda Express, but not nearly as good) and the line to get food was ridiculous. They weren't even close to keeping up with all of the customers.
