Weight has nothing to do with the seat belts, i have seen very large men get on with no problem because there weight was in there stomach , but smaller females not make it. It depends where your weight is distributed on your body. For MF and dragster if you have a large mid section ( thighs and hips) then there is a chance you may not be able to ride, if its in your chest area and stomach then you may have problems with wicked twister. And you cant always go by the test seats, i didnt fit in the tester seat they had for the new voodoo at dorney which used to be at Geauga Lake, and i decided to see if i could get on and maybe the ride op could help me, i ended up fitting and hooking my own belt , so the tester seat was smaller than the actual seat. It will be up to you if you think the coaster is worth standing in line for not knowing if you fit. I would check out the tester seat, you may think you wont fit, and you do. But if the belt comes close on the tester, it may be worth going for it. :)
Well, I'm going to try all of them. I'm going with some other relatives and since I'll have to wait for them anyway, I might as well wait in line and see if I can strap in or not. If I can't I won't worry about what people think about me. I know I'm not going to be the only person turned away plus I'm never going to see any of those people again so what do I care what they think. Can't hurt to try. Anything I get to ride will be fine with me.
This year it seems that Top Thrill Dragster's seatbelt was about 2-3 inches smaller than MF. In the past it seemed the other way. If unsure, my advice is to try MF first. If you have about 1-2 inches of slack on the belt go for TTD.
^^ One year in highschool we went to CP. We were all about to ride Wicked Twister, when a class mate of mine was told her restraints wouldn't go all the way down. She was a bit too "chesty" so she was unable to ride. The ride ops were really nice about it, and no one made a big deal about it eathier. So don't worry, and good luck on riding the coasters! :)
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
This is a very tricky thing. i rode Maverick just fine, except i had smushed my boobs into 4 instead of 2. hehe...the ride op was laughing. so was my hubby.
Millie..i lacked about 2 inches hooking up in the test seat. not so sure if thats very accurate.
Magnum was just fine . my absolute favorite.
I did not even give Top Thrill a try.
Its not the same thing, but I have been kicked off Mine Ride a few times do to my height. Im only 6' 2" and many people taller than me have ridden it. Sometimes I can and sometimes I cant. Depends on the Ride Opp. Most of the time I don't want to ride anyways so I'm glad they kick me off. ;)
Let's Get Weird.
I'm about 5'8" and weigh in roughly around 260. Wear a 22/24. And the majority of my weight is in my chest and butt. I went to CP about a year ago weighing in just 10 lbs less than I do now and the only ride I have concern with is the mean streak(tight at hips). The raptor was slightly tight on my chest, but I had no issues with other rides. Anyone else about my weight/size with issues on the raptor, magnum, mantis,?
I just got back from my trip to CP and I weigh 235lbs with a 44" waist. I was only able to fit the MF and TTD because of the ride ops helping out. I found that if you watch how the ride ops work take a seat were you can observe them helping people out. My last ride on MF I didn't do that and the girl couldn't help me out. The girl did ask the other ride op to help out and he was able to fasten my belt. I was able to have my last ride on the MF.
I was on all the coasters there and I was able to ride all the others ok.
I'm a pretty large guy at 5'10" 268 lbs and was able to ride many of the coasters (including Millennium Force barely!). However, I was unable to ride Wicked Twister, Mantis or Dragster.
Keep in mind, a lot of it also depends on your build as well. I have a lot of muscle in my stomach and legs from working out. If not for that, I probably would never be able to ride Millennium Force. I have a 42" waist but sometimes if you have a large rear end and a belly that can play a role as well.
I think it depends on how your weight is distrubuted. I cannot fit on Mantis, Raptor, Mine Ride, MF, Dragster, or Wicked Twister because my lower abdomen is too big. I'm 273 pounds (lost 8 pounds in a month and a half) I'm working towards a healthier body for next year. I really want to ride GateKeeper.
yea i gotta big butt!! hahaha!! but my waist is about a 44-5" so hopefully i'll be okay. if not, life will go on! lol
It was a nice compliment from "guess your weight" at the park this year. They thought I weighed 210. So I won a stuffed toy.. lol. People say that I carry myself very well, but I'm not giving up on this weight loss and I'm eating healthy and working out when I can. Raptor will be there next year and with GateKeeper I really have ambition now.
This is going to be interesting to say the least.
I will be at the park next Thursday and Friday. I tried the test seat last year and couldn't get the seat belt to lock. It was way to short and I didn't want to chance it.
So this year, I started working out for and hour and a half each day and been on a massive diet. The whole reason is for Millenium Force. It may sound stupid but that's what motivates me, lol.
As other people have said it really is based on your build. I'm 6'4 280 and fit fine on other rides. Never a problem. I might have to cross my legs on some of them but that's it.
So, going to get to the park on early entry. Run, over to MF and see how it goes. From what I've read I should have no problem. I wear a size 40 and I want to get down to a 36.
Regardless, I will post up on the results.
What better motivation do you need. Lose weight, scream your ass off on coasters, WIN.
Then it looks like I will be waiting for the red train.
I have heard that many times. I guess if I can't fit on the red train then I won't fit at all, lol.
