yes and no. its against housing policy to have a ac unit that sticks out the window. Now you can kinda make a way to keep the majority of the unit inside and butt the backside to the screen I have use this method in the past. Otherwise their is typically one large bedroom sometimes two that have a box below the window that has an exhaust fan. You can put the ac in there thats also where if you paid housing to have one installed is where it going to go with a nice piece of wood cut out to fill the gap correctly and for the most part stop bugs from entering. If you do pay for the install you are also suppose to see an increase for the known extra electrical usage.
