Calypso and Turnpike Cars land

Kennywood is another great example of utilizing a small space for a dark ride.

A twin track would be nice to help with capacity at Cedar Point. To keep the footprint small, they could have the 2nd track on the 2nd floor.

How do you attach an image to a post? I can get the little box to come up that says insert/edit image, but I'm not sure what to do from there. Can you not copy an image from your documents?

The image has to be on the Internet somewhere. Post the full link in the source box.

If you need somewhere to host an image, try

http://imgur.com

http://tinypic.com

... among many, many others.

...at risk of displaying his Internet ignorance...

I think an image has to be online -- that is, have an URL you can copy into that little box. If you're copying something out of a document, I don't believe you can insert it into a post.

Edit: Never mind. Walt explained it better than I did and before I did.

Thank you. Here is my idea for this area. It takes some things from the ideas of the others who have posted ideas and it adds in some other details and coaster layouts as well. Now, coming from me, a huge coaster enthusiast, this might be a little cramped for your liking but I think it would look super sweet. The new midway and road reroute are the same as the previous ideas. I drew up a dive coaster layout that dives into a huge Immelman that goes out into the midway across from Coasters, then it heads back by the station into a vertical loop, brake run, second drop, dive loop/second Immelman, some kind of roll, and a final splash down finale. I would have liked to put the entrance where I placed the exit, but seeing as I made the exit go over the splash down (like the Snake River Falls bridge), I didn't think it would be ideal seeing as people would get wet while waiting in line. I also included a new marina entrance with a GCI/RMC flying under and over it, which I think, in theory, would look really cool. I also left room for shops, family rides, and a dark ride and/or a new show venue.

The area that Goodtime occupied is a nice plot of land as is the area where Turnpike cars currently resides. Together they make a valuable plot of real estate for a new ride/attraction. Put me in the boat that believes this will happen for 2016. Now the area where Cedars sits is still something I think will be used for the Marina. Maybe not all of it, I still could see them shifting Perimeter Road to the west just a bit to allow for service space behind whatever is being built in the GTT location. But for the majority of that land I really think they would use it for Marina parking or possible something new for the Marina (shopping, restaurant, etc).

I'm not saying that is what I think will happen, but I think it would be the best way to squeeze the most potential out of the area. I really think the cedars area should be included into the park. Most of the parking in that area was for Cedars so I would think they would be fine with the current marina parking.

My post wasn't really in response to yours but since you mentioned it, the parking in that area was not for Cedars. The two rows directly in front of the building are for managers, Famous Dave's guests, and VIPs. The parking spots up against Cedars are for the executive apartments and the nurses/doctors that work in the clinic. The parking spots directly behind Cedars are for the Marina. Seasonal Employees who stay at Cedars are not allowed to park there. The Marina parking lot can fill up really quick in the height of summer so more parking is definitely needed, which I am sure Pete can attest to. That area alone could use more just for Famous Dave's.

I really like the idea but I just don't think they will be putting two coasters in that area. As much as I would like it, I don't even think they will use the area where Cedars is. Now obviously I have no evidence. This is just my gut feeling.

Where do the seasonal employees park? CoasterKyle, nor do I believe they will be putting two coasters there. It's just my pipe dream. I was just trying to show how it could be possible.

They park in the South Basin parking lot (the bus overflow) unless there is a parking ban. At that point they have to park off-point and ride the bus in. The majority of the seasonal employees that live in Cedars are international employees who don't have cars though. Parking for Cedars isn't an issue, it is for Marina slip holders and Famous Dave's guests.

Well with my idea the road could be moved back toward the park slightly. I intended to leave the lot along the marina. I'm sure more parking could be put somewhere in my plan. But again it is just my dream.

I think using the 6 passenger vehicles they advertise on their website would do the trick. Both Knott's and Wonderland opted instead for 4 passenger vehicles, most likely do to the coaster track on Guardian and the building size constraints on Iron Reef (650 riders per hour for Guardian and 800 riders per hours for Iron Reef). Theoretically the 6 passenger vehicles should bump up capacity to 1000 riders per hour for Iron Reef, which isn't too bad.

Guardian has five trains with two four person cars for a total of eight riders per cycle. Six person vehicles means two rows of three which I only see causing more problems with grouping and meeting capacity. I do agree that larger vehicles could be used without coaster elements, though, possibly four across back-to-back seating for two cars per train (sixteen riders per cycle)? It's hard to say without seeing how Voyage to the Iron Reef turns out. They may not have the same finale, and may not have back-to-back seating, deciding to go with something closer to the concepts on TrioTech's website. Until I see more of Voyage to the Iron Reef, I'm holding off on making guesses about future instalments because that will help show how much variation there will be.

I saw that too. What could that possibly be. The concrete looks way too rough to be something new, but what do I know?

Is it possible it's for Tiki Twirl?
