Cafeteria

Is the cafeteria food terrible like most cafeterias? Are there healthy food choices? That's a must for me, or I'll have to pick housing with full kitchen.

The cafe is attached to the catering kitchen so they have a full kitchen and offer a daily lunch and dinner entree. The entree is actual food stuff that you can find at pretty much any decent restaurant.

They do also offer standard cafeteria food also though. Pizza, chicken strips, hamburgers, ect are all available quickly so if you need to have something to go NOW then you can get that also.

Is there a shared/common kitchen for employee use in the Common Dorms?

In commmons you have microwaves in the lobby, bayside apts. have full kitchen but those fill quickly, and I agree MACHO NACHOS!!!

I think the cafe has really good food, it's reasonably priced, and they have a good variety. Now if you're working in the back of the park like I do, there's also a small employee eatery behind the Stockade. It doesn't have the variety the cafe does, but it's not bad. They have hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, french fries, and deli sandwiches. Plus other assorted foods. Sweets as well, like ice creme, and more. The only real drawback is, where you sit is under shelters at picnic tables. So in really hot weather, it can be pretty uncomfortable. But a lot of the time there's a breeze coming in off the lake. If I have an hour break, I try to walk up to the cafe, otherwise it's too far for just a 30 minute break. Have a fun summer!

can nachos be made with turkey or chicken?

They could do them without the beef, you get to choose what you want on them, but they don't have another meat option other than the beef.

I had no problem with the cafe food. Only didn't like when the left overs for a big event would be the special of the day, for about week. Or even longer. I always thought the breakfast was the best and worth the cost.

The leftovers are still very disgusting nothing like cooled down rewarmed under lights fried chicken.
