Cafateria food

How much does food cost at the employee cafeteria, and is it any good? Or should I just try to get into an apartment and make my own?

The food is pretty inexpensive, but it all starts to taste the same after a few weeks of working at CP. You can eat good for 3 to 4 bucks.

The nice part of Sandusky is alot of restaurants will deliver to employee housing, that might be an option for ya too.

Fries: $.90, Cheese Pizza: $1, Fruit Salad: $1.50. That's only a few I can remember. It's good and cheap at first, but it all gets real old, real quick. I would recommend doing some cheap grocery shopping. Kroger is a pretty good place to go.

It can't be much worse than the stuff they feed us down at college here.

Macho Nachos and every once in a while the turkey, dressing, and mashed potatos were pretty tasty too :-D

I liked the Nachos but they're not really something that I'd like to eat for 'lunch' but more for a snack if shared between a friend or two... I liked hamburgers. I'm going to try my hamburger-a-day diet and see if I don't lose 30 lbs again this summer :-o ... I also enjoyed the cheese sammiches (cold cheese, not grilled, although those weren't bad either)

Pop's where they get'cha. Get water. $0 and is better for you in the short & long run.

Welcome to the Employee Cafeteria Menu line the soup of the day is New England Clam Chowder. The sandwich of the day is Pocket Surpise it will be Roast Beef and Swiss in the pocket. The Entree will be Turkey with Dressing and whiffed potatoes with gravy.

That pocket surprise part cracks me up everytime

Yeah, I asked what was in the pocket suprise one time, and they wouldn't even tell me! They said I had to buy it to find out, so I didn't, and I'm glad, b/c I don't like roast beef.

Macho Nacho Day..... mmmmmm I would go back to Cedar Point just for that lol. Well maybe not... but Macho Nachos are pretty good

Cheese Tortellini day is the best day ever. Macho Nachos are a close second, with Turkey & Stuffing running in third... but, that always makes me want a nap when I get back to work. ;)

My favorites in the caf -
French Roll-ups - flaky on the outisde, ham and yummy cheese on the inside
Macho Nachos - yum!
Bananna Cream Pie (a hard-to-get item sometimes) - best.. PIE.. ever!!!
Fruit Salad (an even harder-to-get item) - better tasting than fries and better for you

Also, I tended to like the food we got on free food picnic days... mostly cuz it was free. And speaking of free... free pancake halloweekend saturdays!!

you guys are complaining about the cafe food getting old...try eating at stockade every day where nothing ever changes and half the stuff is stuff you dont like. Options there? patty melt, grilled cheese, nachos, hot dog, fries. Oh and the subs are okay sometimes. I still can't figure out a good substitute for eating at stockade...sometimes we woud just hop in our cars and speed to mcdonalds and get back just in the nick of time! in short...stockade food=blech! Oh yea and i forgot about those nasty chicken strips.

ill never forget that tortellini...mmm it was the best! i was always getting chicken fingers and fries too...and the nachos were sooo good :-D

the best part about the employee cafe is you can go in there and get your grub on for under five bucks, that's what's up
