Wow...you seem really demanding. Good luck with that...keep an open mind "dude" or your not gonna get far.

It's hard to say whether or not you will like working Cadillac Cars. It depends on the person. I think it's definitely one of the most physical rides you can work, especially once the busy part of the season hits. However, you get to move around more and are not confined to one spot until you rotate. It makes it easier to socialize with your crew at the ride because of this.
Every morning usually began with getting all of the spider webs off of the cars. They usually come out at night right after you kill the engines. Clearing off the track is also part of the morning routine. Getting the cars started is hit or miss. Sometimes they started right up. Other times, you'll have to push them around and take them off the track.
Expect to do a lot of running back and forth to cars. Walking was frowned upon unless there were no cars waiting. Never jump on a car when its raining or you will probably slip and fall. You will probably be at the ride 30-45 minutes after closing to gas up the cars. Occasionally, a car will die on the track, and you'll have to unload the dead car and the car behind it so you can push it around. Lot's a stuff can happen, but it's keeps you on your toes and makes time go fast.
If it rains, expect the area under the bridge to flood. Getting that area clear can be "fun" if the drain is running slow.
The biggest negative of the ride, in my opinion, is working Cedar Downs. In 2004, we would usually have 2 people at the ride unless we were told to cut back. I believe it has been one person since 2005, which can slow things down. As long as you rotate on a consistent basis, time can go by quickly. It really does suck when you are forgotten though.
As for the roommates, the advice above is the best. Keep an open mind and take advantage of the opportunity to become friends with people from many diverse backgrounds.

Oh my, that happened to me before while driving one of them. It just stopped and everyone behind us got all backed up. We had to wait for the attendant to finally realize there were no cars coming back. It was an interesting experience.
Haha I never said that I didn't have an open mind. You need to stop assuming things based on a single post. I have no problems with gay people, I would just prefer to live with straight guys, which is why I posted so I could arrange some roommates. If that bothers you....well I don't really care. If that makes me demanding, I guess I'm demanding.
ohnoflick, are you working the ride this year?
^^^^^^^
No. It's been almost four years since I worked there. I miss it occasionally though.
That reminds me...be prepared to smell like gas. Sometimes, it seemed like the smell would not come off.

In 1981, I would work two days on the Antique Cars (Frontiertown) each week. The worst two days of the week. Smelled like gas and the fumes gave me a bad headache each day. The tops of my shoes developed holes in them from lifting up on the gas pedal. Having a good crew will make working the Cadillac Cars much better.

^ I loved working the Antique Cars I worked there quite a few times in 2008, I enjoyed it, it was fairly easy, and jumping cars was the best. The only thing that I did not like was going to Wave Swinger. I figure Cadillacs is the same. (although I figure Cedar Downs is fairly easy to run.)

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

I worked Cad cars towards the end of the 07 season. It was a lot of fun. You are close to the Employee Caf, and u meet a lot of people around the park. Cad Cars is one of those attractions where management isn't always hounding about rider capacity or if people are following the book and what not. You get into a groove. Catching cars is easy and it's fun talking to people for that short ammount of time. The frustrating thing that I can remember would be going over to Cedar Downs and having people complain that there small child could not ride the merry-go-round, then u point to the one that's literally 200 ft away and they either gave you a hard time about it, or the simply just left. Another thing about the Downs is that there are NO bags what-so-ever allowed on the ride. There is a bin to put them in, but women can't take their purses or anything unless it is connected to them around their waist. It's basically just a bunch of things that people want to argue with you about, but what do you expect on a ride with no restraints that goes 12mph. Then over at the cars themselves in the 07 season management switched the rules as to who could be in the driver seat and drive and who couldn't. The rule at the beginning of the season was that anyone could steer as long as a responsible adult was pushing the pedal.. that all changed one day, and children had to be a certain hight to sit in the front, then i believe the changed back. This caused a lot of gripe with the locals. I know all i've talked about are some of the debbie downers, but you're close to the front gate, you always get to watch the running of the bulls, you are close to the employee caf. You can take your time on your breaks as well as know when Hot Summer Lights is starting so u can shut down like ASAP. You're in the front of the park, so after gassing you can get out to your car or whatever. It's a lot of fun, and more than likely you'll be moved around from just that attraction. Just have fun and enjoy the summer. Now if only i could find someone to tell me what this summer is gonna be like for me in Hotels.
