2008 Cadillac Cars/ Cedar Downs Crew. Also a ride whore.
hey Jared,
My name is Parker, and i was a worker on Cad Cars 07. It's not all that bad, just watch for kids being stuipd. bumping is a big thing on the ride, and Raptor seems to throw presents from the cobra roll a lot. It's nice being right in the front of the park, so it's not a bad walk, but when you have 6 cars down, it makes it tough. The cars are not that heavy, and you learn how to transfer on and off quickly. Gassing at night was always fun becuase we would get out with the light show crowd half the time.
Some things to look for.
Be ready to tell a kid that he can't drive the car. They switched the way we operated last year, so it's hard to tell them no.
Be ready to ask larger guests if they would like to ride in a car by themselves. The seatbelts aren't all consistant and some of them are hard to get around just one person, so you'll see a lot of muscling of the belt in the back seat.
Yes they need to buckel up. you'll get asked this a lot if it won't fit around a couple in the back seat.
NO BASKETBALLS and NO STUFFED ANIMALS. they get annoying, and one night, some kids stopped in the tunnel and played dodgeball with them, needles to say, they were no longer in the park that night.
the important thing is being consistant, if a kid is close and the parent is sitting in front, it's ure choice, but remember, there are a TON of little kids that ride this every day.
Be on the look out for things that fly out of peoples pockets on Raptor. Cell phones and money seem to be a usual find around the course.
One day last season we had a really bad rain, and it clogged up the drainage system, we were down most of the day, so be ready for that, it's fun.
U'll get used to sweeping spiders off of most everything, but that goes for just about every ride at CP.
Also working Cad Cars you are in charge of Cedar Downs. This is one of the more popular rides to "goof off on" and make ride ops mad. I wasn't nice over there last season, cause once one person stood up, or whipped out a camera, they all did.
Cameras are not permitted on any ride at Cedar Point and doing so may result in ejection from the park.
mostly kids stand up, which is a no no, and adults pull out cameras. Give them a warning, if they don't put it up, i would e-stop and tell them that's all they get. Purses were a big thing last year. Again, just be consistant. if they could put it around their waist, i would let them on, but if not, i had to ask them to put it in the bin. i can say i never had ANYTHING stolen while i was working Cedar Downs.
If u have questions, i'm on AIM: wabashparker
Hope you have a great summer!
