Bye Bye Dodgem I

Michigan Adventures announcement today says they are getting a Dodgem ride for next year. Hummm, I wonder where Michigan's Adventures is getting the Dodgem ride from??? Maybe Six Flags? No!

How about Cedar Point? YES!

Well, what is going to go in the Dodgem I place???

A restaurant, a new Huss spin ride, hang on folks only time will tell!

Hey, a kiddie area back there wouldn't be so bad...then they could move/remove Kiddy Kingdom and have room for another coaster...possibly a woodie.

Frankly, I don't really want your bumper cars! Only because they are taking out Trabant, I am guessing for the bumper cars. Last time I drove by it was in total pieces :(. Oh well, if its for the better of MIA.

Ok, so I have 403 laps on ST, but I would give it all to have CP as my home park.

That's going to be one small bumper car arena if they put on the Trabant site :)

Let's not forget the other rumor of Schwabinchen taking a trip up north. Now that's a reasonable replacement for a Trabant.

If they get rid of Dogems doesnt the ride count go down? and isn't that bad?

Who says the won't replace Dodgem I with another ride (or two or three or....)?

Well, the ride count would remain the same since we know they are building a new ride now. But, I'm convinced that some flat rides are coming too. Only time will tell.

ALong with that they should be getting 7 more additional rides to boot along with the restauraunt Jeff mentioned....

Question: How many cars are there on Dodgem I?
Question: How many cars were there on Dodgem II?

Theory: The (older) cars from Dodgem II are on their way to Michigan. Particularly sensible since Dodgem II has been dismantled for a month now. Assuming the rumors about Dodgem I going away are true, expect to see the Dodgem I cars in the Dodgem II building next season.

Comment: There are so darned many cars on CP's bumper car rides that they could send all the Dodgem II cars to Michigan and move half of the Dodgem I cars to Dodgem II, and improve both rides.

Rideman has gotten me confused. Which Dodgem is going away? I thought it was Dodgem I which is near Magnum.

What he's saying is that perhaps dodgem I (by magnum) is staying but will have half of its cars (which are newer) go to dodgem 2 (by the IMAX). Dodgem II's cars, which are older and already off of the ride, are perhaps getting sent to MIA. Now each of the 2 dodgems would have half as many cars and (in Rideman's opinion and my own as well) make both rides better because they're less cluttered.

I agree with Rideman that there are currently too many cars in CP's Dodgems. Splitting them up would be nice. If they were going to get rid of one of the two buildings, I'd like Dodgem II (by the Marina Gate) to go since it was looking kind of sad this year (missing letters/temperary painted letters on the building, etc). But, if the sitdown resteraunt by Magnum is going to happen, then that probably won't be the case. Basically what I'm saying is if Dodgem II is staying, they need to fix up the building a bit because it was looking bad this year.

The leading rumor is that Dodgem I is leaving, going to Michigan's Adventure. My point (apart from the theory that CP has twice as many bumper cars as they need for the two rides) is that Dodgem II has been out of service for several weeks now because that building is presently a haunted house. It is possible that CP has already sent those cars to Michigan's Adventure, and intends to put the newer cars, the ones from Dodgem I, into the Dodgem II building.

Kind of like what they did in 1994. Prior to 1994, a number of newer cars appeared on the Turnpike Cars ride, and when the ride was re-done in 1994 to make room for Raptor, the older Turnpike Cars vehicles were sent to Dorney Park to make two rides there, while the newer ones stayed at Cedar Point.

See, when you get hand-me-downs, you don't usually get the new stuff... :)

Rideman, I don't think the bumper cars are here yet. I visited MIA today, and in the employee lot area we saw the go karts and putt putt cars. I would think this is where the bumper cars would be put until they were needed. I could be wrong though, just my thoughts on things. And interesting theory, as always.

Ride 12E this weekend and look under the helix as you come off the first block. Guess what you'll see??? That's right, a bunch of Dodgem II' cars. The reason they're not in Muskegon is because they've never left Alaska (that's how the weather looks for this weekend too ;) )
