Broken Down Rides

I made my first trip to cedar point in over a month today.

It was nearly cloudy the entire day and it rain off and on during the morning but not very much. I'm a big cedar point person, I get there very year but I have never experienced so many rides down.

Wind seeker and sky ride were down, assuming cause of the wind
Dragster was off and on all morning but started running constantly around 1.
Magnum was shut sown till about 230.
Maverick was shut down till about 1230.
Sky Hawk shut down for a few hours during the day.
Space spiral was closed but that's expected it's always closed.
Gemini was off and on all morning.
Also raptor opened like a half hour after ERT started.

The last time it rained was probably around 11ish. I know the rains closes some rides but it was just ridiculous. I don't know if it's cause of the rain/wind/mechanical or what.

I do know that Magnum has broken down quite a few times during this year.
Has anybody else experienced all these ride closures lately?

-Magnum was also down yesterday, supposedly there was a problem with one of the coaches.
-Maverick was down for some time both Saturday and Sunday.
-Mean Streak was down for a bit on Sunday.
-Disaster Transport was down for a bit Saturday morning (immediately after it opened up)

It is surprising to see and read that Magnum has been down so much in the recent weeks. Magnum is one of the most reliable rides at the park. Maverick has been down for at least a period of time almost every time I have been to the park since the ride debuted.

I was at the park today as well, I arrived around 11:30 a.m. and headed straight back for Maverick. Maverick was up an running with only an hour wait, maybe I arrived near the ride just before it reopened but I never noticed any downtime. After that I headed over to Skyhawk which was down but testing in preparation to reopen soon. After a test run I boarded the ride on the first cycle. It was now around 1 p.m. and no sign of Mean Streak or Magnum opening anytime soon, as I hadn't seen a train move on either. So I headed over to Gemini (30 min wait) which despite only running the blue side, seemed to continue to run continuosly all day. I got in a lap on TTD with a surprisingly short 45 min wait, and again throughout the day I didn't notice TTD dealing with any downtime as I constantly watched the horizon for any sign of Magnum and besides you can hear TTD launch from almost anywhere in the park. Magnum did finally open sometime around 4 but by the time I made it to the entrance of Magnum from Raptor the line had already reached a 2 hour wait! I decided to pass and take a second lap on MF and Mantis since the wait were 45 mins and 15 mins respectively. On my way up the lift on Mantis our train was stopped due to someone undoing their seatbelt (!?!?) which gave me time to notice that Corkscrew had now fell prey to downtime and employees were evacuating both trains on the block brakes just before you enter the station. Windseeker (or WindAvoider) was down due to wind, along with SkyRide, Space Spiral, and for some time Giant Wheel as well. I also noticed Blue Streak down for a short time in the early afternoon. Overall I had a good time but I visit at least 6 times a season so I don't mind skippimg a few coasters a on few trips but there did seem to be alot more downtime today than I have come to expect from CP or Cedar Fair for that matter and I frequent Kings Island as well lol! JK! But seriously it was kinda disappointing...

"Raptor will turn you upside down 6 times in 4 different ways, that's more than Maverick, Millenium Force, and Top Thrill Dragster combined!!!"

I saw something really interesting yesterday evening. Magnum was running two trains, with the red train parked on the transfer track. But one of the middle cars (#3 I think) was missing from that train!

I noticed that too and it kinda worries me cause the other AD coasters are now running 2 trains instead of 3 and magnum needs 3 trains

Most rides close due to any type of precipitation. Windseeker will close due to wind along with skyride. Although I believe that sky ride has been closed for quite some time now for what looks like repairs.

And that is pretty interesting about Magnum. Normal if it was a routine checkup type thing they would do that while on the transfer track. Or if they are replacing a wheel or something. It must be pretty big for them to take a whole car off. Could it be done for the season ?
