Bring your "Depends" ;)

For anyone who hasn't read my TR.
My daughter and I had the absolute thrill of seeing TTD in action yesterday (April 27th) and the best way to describe it is OMG!
I watched the 1st launch and honest my words were "I ain't riding that thing!!" I always thought the launch on WT was insane, that will seem like NOTHING compared to TTD.
It is VERY quiet during the launch and even the climb up, over and down the hill. That will not always be the case of course, once the normal park noise starts and the terrified screams of the riders begin, it will cease being quiet! The TTD sign is going to be awesome, it looks as though it will be a neon "Dragster" - I took a pic w/it even though it wasn't done yet. I sat in the test seat (yes took a pic in it too) which resembles MFs but maybe feels alittle more open. Also the test seat did not have the head restraint. My daughter and I got to watch the actual hydralics working. The size and mechanics of the device reminded me of the electic stations in NYC that run the subways-it is huge! It was explained to me yesterday how it actually works which I found VERY interesting. Complex yes, but still interesting! The hotshot booth is still being worked on, as is the queue and all the final touches. There were 3 trains testing yesterday, and honest to goodness watching each one was an absolute rush! The train went over the top alot quicker than I had expected, but that could be just since the water dummies don't really weigh what the normal guest would weigh. I never wanted to be a water dummy so bad before! ;) The former PT gift shop is still being razed into the TTD gift shop, I personally hope they skip all the Margaritaville crap in the store this time! I never could understand that anyway.

Take my word for it, NO pictures, NO videos and NO webcam does TTD justice. You will be amazed when you see it. My daughter hadn't seen it in person yet and when she 1st saw it from First Street she said "Holy C that thing is huge!" She was so impressed and so excited to ride it! We sat in the grandstand (what an awesome addition) for quite a while too...
On Frontier Trail they cleared the carp area (by CCMR) so you get a direct view of TTD from there. Can you say "picture spot?" :) Water, carp, food dispensers still there and I'm sure the ducks and geese will be too soon enough.
I know I can't wait to pick up the TTD pictures I took yesterday. I had planned on only taking a "couple" pics and saving my film for another "time" but blew threw an entire roll anyway. Oops! ;)
CP is totally outdone itself this time-get ready to get your socks knocked off yet once more. They took the best of MF and the best of WT to create yet another marvel. I think this now before I've even ridden it....imagine how people will feel after they've ridden it!!! :)
I am so ready to race for the sky!!! :)

For those interested, I will be selling bootleg Depends in the parking lot starting around 6:00 am. All of the money raised will go to the campaign to run against those City Commissioners members who voted for the parking tax. ;)

Better be careful, Mikey, or you'll end up seeing them pass a Depends tax ;)

LuvRaptor, thanks for sharing your upclose experience of TTD with us! That's incredible that you got to see the hydraulics running! I've seen how big they are in the pictures, but to see them in motion must be something else! Did you see any launches while on the grandstands? If so, how fast did the train appear to speed through your direct line of sight (half a second, a quarter second, faster?), and how far away did the track appear from your perspective?

Thanks for the TR LuvRaptor!

Quick question for you - Of the 3 trains that were launching, did any of them have 5 cars, or just 4 like everyone's been reporting?

OMG, these kind of reports make me want to buy a one way ticket towards Sandusky!! I just want to ride the thing but it stands about half the world away from my house...
So that was you LuvRaptor I saw yesterday in the park going picture crazy. And yes all 3 trains I saw launch all had 4 cars on them. Now people there is no need to get worried by this i'm sure they know what they are doing.

I remember seeing it at Halloweekends last year what it was only a few "levels" tall and how huge it looked then. Even seeing it from the Main Gate dosent do it justice. You have to look up the tower from directly below it.

The only thing worse than people who make grammar mistakes are the people who have to point it out every ****ing time.

So the launch is quiet, but is there one spot where one can stand and hear what sounds like a siren? There is in XCelerator, and it's an awesome thing to hear. It's in/near the gift shop, I believe caused by the cable whirring by so fast...

That was an awesome report LuvRaptor! I am now even more excited to ride it (and my friends thought it wasn't possible!)

I suspect the noise comes from the cables touching the nylon guides that feed the cables into the building.

Why would they want to clear the area near Cedar Creek Mine Ride? That has always been one of the coolest sections in the park as far as I'm concerned.
