Bring back the Sky Wheel!

Of all the rides removed from CP over the years I miss this the most. It will never happen but I can dream can't I? About the only place I can find a Sky Wheel nowadays it at the Ohio State Fair and that thing shook like crazy.
Bring back the sky slide.

I am with Dan....Bring back the Sky Slide! I want to slide into a potato sack with my kids and slide down a massive slide! My dad did with all of us as kids, I want to share the Sky Slide with my kids!
Yeah, but maybe a Sky Slide from the 21st century - it would have to be like 400ft tall. ;)

There are two I miss. The sky slide is definitely one of them; very fond memories from my youth. The other is the frontier lift through the trees. It seemed like you were going to a different park when you were on that ride, especially to the youngins.
Bring back the Chaos...oh wait ;-)

I miss the Sky Slide also. How about the Earthquake and the Pirate Ride? Those were classic.
"On you mark, get set, Go....On coming riders please place your mat burlap side down with the pocket in the front. Sit down on your mat with your knees bent. Hold on to the sides of the mat but don't touch the slide as you'll get a FRICTION BURN!!!...On your Mark get set GO, Thank you for riding the SKy Slide and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point."

One of the Sounds of CP I truly miss hearing everytime I walk past that spot:)

The pirate ride was the best, now they have an arcade there. That would be a good place for chaos or troika.

What ever happened to the pirate ride?

All the old rides and the old atmosphere were great (in the context of the time). BUT I have to say the Sky Wheel was the scariest ride in the park (at least from my perspective back then). The Sky Slide was fun but had a good fear factor because of the rickety steps going up the side.

I'd like to see the Satellite Jets brought back myself. Classic, and a great ride to go on with your kids. Sky Slide would be fun to have back too! I am still afraid to go on the double ferris wheel though....
I only went on the double ferris wheel once, and it scared me to death. The satellite Jets were favorites of my brother.

Sorry to burst your guys bubble here, but I hate those type of "Sky Slide" rides. When I was 6 our "potato sack" went out of control and I have a huge scar on my wrist from that incident.

Damn Green Bay potato sacks, can't even make em right.

Which is one reason why it no longer exists. No seat belts, trim brakes, or other safety features!
Hey guys, new to the forum. Thanks for the opp. I lived in Avon Lake most my life but employment brought me to Memphis, TN. Last week we had the MID-SOUTH FAIR, a giant BBQ cooking blowout with tons of rides, shows, games, etc... They had a Troika there and it looked identical to the CP version. Do you think the people at the fair bought it from CP? Or does CP keep them in storage for posible later use?

Never missed a summer at the Point.

I don't think so...I believe Troika (and Chaos) are being relocated to a different area of CP, and Troika is still sitting in pieces in the Soak City parking lot.

No, Troika is actually sitting next to Gemini in many pieces, and some of it appears to have got a little paint.

How much paint is a little paint, Mr. Putz? Are we talking about touch-ups or has an entire arm been painted?

I was young once...

Hmm. Will paint fix the wierd creaking sound the ride makes when the arms are raised up? It is showing it's age. I know maintenance is awesome, but the creaking is wierd. I don't remember it in the past.
