Breaking down the elements

It is pretty obvious by now, what we are getting in this ride, so what are your thoughts about the ride's elements? Here are mine:

Launch - The only launched rides I have ever been on were WT and S:UE, and by comparison those should be tame. I am thinking this ride is going from 0 to 120 (or whatever) in less than 1000 feet, lets hope for a comfortable seat to be plastered to. I can only imagine it will be like an airplane accelleration for takeoff, but with open air.

Straight up 400+ feet - The first time I rode S:UE was the first time since I was a child that a ride actually frightened me. Mainly because you couldn't see when the ride was going to stop going up, up, up. I imagine this ride will multiply that feeling, since it is twice as tall, if not more.

Initial twist into tophat - Rolling to your right, just before cresting the top, this should be a good ride in the front or rear. I'm not sure how the inner seats on the train will feel, any thoughts?

Airtime at TopHat - I can't even begin to imagine airtime at 400+ feet, let's just say unbelievable.

Twisting down - Imagine being a WW2 fighter pilot who just got shot down.... You're racing towards the ground at an increasing speed, all while twisting out of control.

Brakes - Most people would say this isn't really an element, but done right, deaccelleration isn't a bad thing. On the WildCat, I hate the deaccelleration and wont ride for that reason alone. Let's hope this is done in a comfortable manner, so we can exit the ride without having contusions from the restraints.

While I'm on the restraints, I expect this to be a Millie-type restraint and train. I also think that feeling of freedom will add tremendously to the thrill factor for the ride. If we see Horse Collars on this ride, I will be disappointed, but will still give it a couple tries.

All-in-all I think this ride will be a great thrill ride, and even though it should be just L-TH-TW-B, will be a favorite among park-goers, just for the sheer size and adrenaline rush.

There should be an improvement to the trains. The lapbars won't give guys any problems anymore since the bars are bent, and not just straight like MF's.

Have you seen the trains for this ride, or something? Or, am I reading your post wrong?

No trains have been seen yet.

Based upon the trains that Xcelerator received, it can be deduced that CP's rocket will also have the same type of trains. To answer your question, though, I haven't seen them. I doubt they are even in the country right now.

...Denial is an ugly thing.

THE RESTRAINT WILL HAVE TO BE OVER SHOLDER AS THE TWIST WILL DEMAND IT. I WOULD THERE FOR LIKE TO SEE AN X STYLE RESTRAINT (BUTERFLY)
What makes you assume that? ...And why are you shouting at us?

Xcelerator doesn't have OTSR's, so I doubt this will either. Just because there is another 180 degrees on the drop, doesn't mean there needs to be a new restraint system.

i so just posted this in the wrong topic. long day. anyway...

I understand the element that the Xcelerator does (top hat?), but this doesn't appear to be the same maneuver for NUMBER6TEEN. Are we possibly negotiating an inversion 420 feet above the ground?

If you build it, they will come!

Why do inversions "need" to have an OTSR. Just look at Son of Beast and Flight of Fear at PKI for examples.
No ride needs OTSRs exept for Deja Vu, and V2 on the rear spikes. and maybe stand-ups. OTSRs only hold you down by your hips and thighs the rest doesn't touch your body like the horsecollars. Lockbars and lap bars hold you down in the same manner as the OTSRs do why would Intamin want to add useless Harnesses in which the twists don't call for.
This will have the same element as Xcelerator...no inversion.

Its probably 99.9% sure that the trains will have the same type of restraints as the Xcelerator. With the enhanced bar, I dont see why CP would want to put people in pain.

The brakes element will be really nice, i dont see why it would be uncomfortable because look how long the brake run is.

O yea, just like Cp_bound said, NO INVERSION.

We've discussed this a hundred times, look at the top hat track, no inversion. Anyway, an inversion would suck. I want to get a nice, upright, quick view at the top.

Who honestly wants an inversion?

well I as an avid Mr. Freeze fan, would absolutely *love* to see *that* manner of "tophat" taken @ near 400 ft. Looking at the world upside down would be a hoot *for me* that would FAR outshine a brief airtime moment.

But I thought we were discussing what 'sweet sixteen' *is*, not what it aint ;)

lata, jeremy

Can you imagine being in the last cart getting whipped over the top hat? That has to be an insane feeling.

If it is inverted it would be the worlds highest inversion.Another record for Cedar Point.OOOOOOOOOO Whooppeeeee.
I don't think that an inversion is that far fetched. Look at this pic of Xcelerator

The track curves the opposite direction on #16, so either we'll be doing a Wicked Twister like 360 turn in to a top-hat, or we'll be looking at the ground, up-side-down from 420 feet!

Now look at this pic of #16... clearly the track is turning the oposite direction!

As Geno would say, hmmmmmmmmmmmm...
