Breakers - Old Section...what's it like?

As a non-smoker I would not want to stay in the smoking rooms. You can ask for an air filter at the front desk (limited # of them) but seeing as that side of the building was built in the late 20's and people have been smoking in there ever since...you will probably notice it if you are sensitive.

Thanks, i guess i'll be sticking to Breakers Express then. It would be kool to stay on point, but i'd rather have a 5 minute drive than pay an extra $50.

I was up in the Breakers the other day, and at the top floor, and second floor down there were four rooms that were opened completely up...nothing in them, no doors on them...some windows missing. These four rooms were two on top, then the next two directly beneath the top two, which were not next to eachother. I'm not understanding why this is...can someone clue me in?

Could have been housekeeping rooms. The top floor also has a concierge room where they have continental breakfasts and serve cookies at night so it could have been that too.

I don't know...these rooms only had paint on the walls...no doors...no windows (wind was blowing in) etc. It was up in the old tower where you have to take the steps to get up there. The part where you can look down about seven or so stories and see the people sitting on the wicker chairs...and the see the wooden floor. It's the circular hallway.

Oh, I know what you are talking about now. You were in the Rotunda and those rooms are access to the fire escape (you can see it from the original pool).

I don't recommend this but picture jumping off that top floor down to a pile of linen that goes all the way up to the second floor. I'll leave it at that.
