Boo Buzz ‘07 Saturday Oct 20th

Remembering what an awesome time my hubby and I had last year I was really looking forward to BB '07 :)

There were many things that were different from the beginning. Last year the weather totally sucked. Typical Ohio fall day. Cold, moist and gray. I know everyone had on pounds of clothes, including gloves and hats. This year, awesome! Day started off cool, could have done without the morning lake wind but eventually I was glad I opted for shorts but kept the long sleeve hoodie on all day.

Maverick ERT was awesome. Hubby and I got 10 rides, 8 of which were rerides. The crew and the ride itself was pinnacle, I must say that despite the opening day nightmare with Maverick that ride has sure held it’s own. There was NO down time for us at all, it’s about time Intamin - oops - Intaride finally got it together.
The only bummer was when we were waiting to get back to the station during our final ride one guy (who I’ve seen plenty of times at the park-he’s one of those ones who will plow you over if you don’t get out his way during event ERTs) was sitting there talking smack about one of my friends. Talking about how my friend says he has more rides on XXX but he does, and how he doesn’t think he's a nice person. I was getting so pissed. My hubby thinks I should have said something but sometimes if you speak up then for one it proves you were dipping (I was once I heard my friend’s name) and 2 it can make you look like a bigger jerk then they are is if you confront them. Hindsight, yea, I should have said something but maybe that explains why this guy is always alone. We were on the last train of ERT and we all exited off the train because the GP was already lined up behind the gates. Not that guy, he saw the one guy that was in his row was a single rider so he just got right back on the train and rode again. Nice :(

After ERT done there was a rush a GP coming in. We walked over to Skyhawk and did one quick ride, Still one of our favorite flats. Walked to Raptor and got to the entrance just as the GP rush began. Yes, it was the running of the bulls but to everywhere, including Raptor. We should have been the next ones in line but thanks to all these people (mostly teenagers I might add) just running past us despite seeing we were clearly heading for the line entrance, we ended up 40 or 50 behind. No manners what so ever and naturally if it’s a group of 5 or 10 they must all stay together and instead of the ones ahead waiting on the ones behind, the ones behind should be able to just cut in front of everyone else to catch up with their group.

What ever :(

When we got to the platform I couldn’t believe they only had 2 trains running. I told my hubby there must be something wrong with that 3 ride always gets my tummy. (Be sure you ask blue tag Mike to show you his watch when you see him next time!)

That would pretty much be it for the rest of the day ride wise. We pretty much just walked around the park people watching and taking pics till lunch. We also took 5 rides on the train too.

The park was PACKED! By noon there was a 1.5 wait for Maggie, 1.5 wait for Gemini, 3 hours for Maverick (that line was clear back almost to where you can feed the fish! ) They almost needed signs for the food stands too. I said if I had come to ride rides I would be pissed! We overheard a guest say "well, we've been here for 3 hours and rode 1 ride"

Lunch was yummy - I’d wish I could make chicken that good. My hubby just wishes I’d cook :)

After lunch we decided to book out. We were both pretty exhausted. I could not believe there were still miles of cars trying to get in (this is like almost 6pm!) the lot was FULL-and they were even parking them back by the toll booths. Bad for them, good for CP.

All in all BooBuzz was a blast! Our thanks to the Jeff for the event, and the Maverick crew for being so awesome to us. To the crew who served the food, to Tony for making us all laugh. It was great seeing old friends, meeting new friends and just hanging at the Po!nt on such a beautiful and packed day! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I find it quite amusing that guy was arguing about who has more rides on a coaster. LOL! It sounds like he was 5 years old. I expect things like that from my nephews. Not from an "adult".

And the prize that you get for riding something the most times.....? Amazing!

The guy is even older than me!! Now that's old!

In case you didn't notice I left out my little "Lifetime Raptor flights" on my signature on my post-that would be like the pot calling the kettle black!
I have that on my signature because I love Raptor, (Luvraptor-get it? ;)) not because I am trying to brag or degrade anyone else.

Except for Ben-I am allowed to degrade him as much as I want!!! ;)

^ - and at the same time, you're not arguing with other people screaming "Nuh-uh, I'VE ridden it more.....No I have....No I have"

Thats too bad that things spoken by general public can make a trip to CP not a pleasant one.

I understand how hard it is not to say something when someone is bashing one of your friends. I hung out with someone like that and it was embarassing and it caused me a lot of grief at the park. I had to patch up a lot of problems and thank goodness people are forgiving. You have to stand up for what is right and sometimes it is better to not say anything at all. :(
