I want to say it was a 7 on the side... but I don't really remember.... so I'm not going to say "yeah it was car 7!" Cause I don't really know for sure... I'm pretty sure it was an odd number though.

In 2001 you could get a decent view on Paddlewheel Excursions. It'll be on your right right after the family feud scene.

What are air gates? What is their purpose? Why did they prevent Gemini from efficiently running 3 trains on each side? *** Edited 6/18/2004 3:03:31 PM UTC by Jeff***

Air gates are the station gates that were added to put a physical barrier between people waiting in the station and the track. Before they were added, they just had a yellow line that they yelled at people to stay behind. The air gates have increased loading times in the station since they now have to be opened and closed each time they load.

i fail to see how they can increase loading time if the opening and closing of them is actually timed right. Open the gates at the same time the lapbars unlock, have them manually close while they are checking lapbars etc. I don't see how it is going to slow down the load time.

I noticed that I could see the boneyard from the queue of Mean Streak this year. As soon as I walked in, I just looked to my right and, sure enough, in the distance there were 2 trains, one blue, one red, with GEMINI on them. *** Edited 6/20/2004 1:30:14 AM UTC by cman2322***

I may be wrong, but i don't think that is part of the boneyard.

I don't know the details of the system, but I believe that a new computer system was installed to park the trains with the airgates. I believe that's where the slow-down comes from because the ops could park the train faster than the computer can. I'm sure somebody else on here can give a better explination though.

Yeah, they need to remove them! Last Wednesday when I was there, I got my foot stuck in the Iron Dragon's gates. It was quite funny.

Mantis_man, from what I've heard around here, and from watching the ops at the park, I believe Gemini is still manually parked. *** Edited 6/20/2004 5:09:48 AM UTC by Coasterfan***
