Boardwalk?

According to Screamscape the boardwalk project is being set aside for something bigger, any thoughts on this?

I think they wanting for this 310 foot monster to be built and let the immediate popularity of this bad boy run its course for two years or so. I kinda wonder how much CP really cares about holding the record for most coasters in one park...Would it hurt attendance that much? Wouldn't bother me too much, less wait time for me!

What boardwalk project?? I thought that was all a rumor and according to Screamscape they mentioned more than once that DT was coming down....
here we go again...

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
It was a rumor...and still is. It is a rather nice one though, just not feasible at this point. People need to stop worrying about what will happen in a few years when we haven't even rode THE BIGGEST ROLLER COASTER IN THE WORLD!

Thank you for riding Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's RollerCoast!

You want to know where that rumor originated? Look here:

I think CP set the idea aside for the rumor if the the foorless coaster in 2002 what could be over 210 feet.
The 210ft. floorless coaster probably isn't going to happen. 2 reasons...if there is a florrless it most likely won't be 210ft. Secondly CP is not one to follow the pace. They usually set the pace! Too many parks already have floorless coasters and don't get me wrong i'd love to see one at CP but I don't think it is CP's top priority right now.

Sorry about my previous post. It made since in my mind but now that I look at it, it doesn't make to much since. LOL! I just think that a florrless won't happen at CP for a while. It is not like Cedar Point to follow the footsteps of other parks(especially primier). Who knows i could be wrong. it is just an opinion. Besides it is too early to even specualte the next coester. We don't even have our 310ft giant up yet! :)
I disagree. Cedar Point usually improves on existing ride ideas. They didnt get the first inverted, but they built a bigger one. They didnt get the first stand-up, but they built a bigger one. The only exception to this would be magnum, which was the first ride of its kind.

Actually Magnum is just a really big mine train coaster. It was not the first of its kind, it was just the biggest at the time. Besides the elevator lift, Millennium Force is just a big runaway Mine Train too. Or I suppose you could call it a big hyper coaster. Either way, it is not a new idea.

Calling MF an overgrown mine train is a stretch based on the design of the trains. If you look at the trains on Magnum, CCMR, Gemini, and the Morgans, you'll notice that the coaches could actually run independently of the other coachs, meaning four wheel assemblies on each coach. If you look at the Intamin trains, you'll see four assemblies on the lead coach and two on the other (trailered coaches), not even close to a mine train. In a few words, MF is simply an Intamin Gigacoaster and nothing else.

Sorry!
The floorless coaster probably will happen because CP has a pattern :every other year a big thrill ride or Roller coaster
1994- big coaster
95-kiddie
96- big coaster
97- small ride
98- big thrill ride
99- kiddie with a small coaster
2000- huge coaster
2001 -probably boardwalk or small ride
2002 - probably something big either coaster [floorless] or a big thrill ride.
See the pattern?
Patterns mean nothing, it's the money that talks. I find it difficult to predict the CP future, the only thing I can predict, is that they will never disappoint, only surprise!

The patterns indicate where the money goes. The more you spend, the more you get. This pattern should hold as long as the economy maintains a level similar to the '88 - '00 level.

Not the patterns again... business plans don't involve patterns.

I'm sure they'll surprise us with something outstanding, but it need not be a floorless coaster. Not to mention it doesn't have to wait two years...
