Looking at Griffon at BGE, I just have to say that Cedar Point should really consider this for 2008-09, if they haven't already. And don't take those years as to when I am saying they should build the next coaster, I am just giving an example. Back to Griffon, I think it looks great. I think that if Cedar Point took this concept, they could make it much better. Also, if you think about it, the new Dive Machine will be two ride concepts in one. a Diver and a floorless, two rides that Cedar Point needs. Imagine speeding through MF Island, over (or even under ;) ) the river around it, through trees, over and under MS's stucture and in the center of it. I am drooling just thinking about it.
Here is a link to the Griffon announcement.

Could've been a little longer of a ride, but are you serious Top Thrill? That looks pretty intense. A lack of elements maybe and it could have had more drops, but all in all I think I'll make the trip down there. Only 4 hours for me!!

Cedar Point does not need a B&M Dive Machine at all. They're pretty much completely pointless, unless it's mixed with a lot of other different types of rides. But even though Griffon is also floorless, it looks like it's going to be even worse than Sheikra.

I've heard that the dive machines are just "eh" as well. But, I would travel to ride one of the park had other things too. I mean, I've never ridden a dive coaster before, so I'd like to. I'd hit up BGA or BGE to ride one. Then again, its just as easy for me to go to England to ride one there than it is to go to Virginia. :)
I do think the splashdown is quite well done on Sheikra. Good innovation by B&M.
I do not care what type of coasters are out there. When I go to an amusment park I go there to ride all the rides as much as I can. I can care less if ppl say this ride sucks or not. Roller Coasters in general are a thrill no matter how tall it is , how fast it is, and if thier are elements on the ride. So stop saying Dive Machines sucks, just because Cedar Point does not have one.

Any ride that looks tall, looks thrilling to me. So who cares if anybody has been on ttd or Kingda Ka (now the tallest and fastest coaster in the world) YES!!!!! JK lol
Roller Coasters are freaking sweet no matter what ppl think!

Personally I love SheiKra and look forward to Griffon, but that doesn't mean one would be "right" for Cedar Point. The park will do what they feel works best.
(Besides, Project '07 isn't even done yet, so let's wait and see how that turns out)

I really enjoyed Sheikra and I'm looking forward to Griffon, though the two rides do seem very similar to one another. On that note, I don't think this is something CP needs to, nor wants to, invest in. For one thing, I don't think the 90* drop is something that would be enticing for guests in this general region anymore, with Dragster, WT, PT, and DD, all with vertical drops. It would be a "been there, done that" type of thing.
PKI, though, perhaps could get away with one, once the "exclusive contract" between B&M and Busch expires.

And thus lies the problem with the parks being owned by the same company. I just don't see CF installing a giga at that park and take the attendance from CP. Remember, CP still has two of the tallest coasters in North America, other than Ka. Why would they install rides to compete with themselves? I can see different types/styles of rides installed at PKI than at CP and vice versa.

I want to go on a dive machine. They look cool. My family may go to BGE next year. I really want to ride Alpengeist and Appollo's Chariot. And Big Bad Wolf looks way better than Draggin' Iron.
