People in leadership=supervisor
Most of the people that have posted on this subject have been 'in leadership' before. But to say that they are not a supervisor is a joke. If a crew member has a need, a problem,a question, they talk to the ATL/TL. If you go straight to an Area or a silver tag, you break the chain of command. The chain of command that is in the employee handbook. It's up to the ATL/TL to decide if it needs futher attention.
It works the same the other way, if an area doesn't like something, he/she takes it to the next one down the chain (ATL/TL). Not to the crew member.
Yes, of course there is always an open door policy. I was talking about daily routine problems that always come up and require decisions. And that those problems are the reason I believe TL/ATL employees are supervisors. After reading my handbook again I understand where I was wrong in what I said. It does focus on the words 'Team Leader'. I'm sorry if I upset anyone.
Last year when my area's or silver tag had any problem's with my crew they told me about it and to handle it, it was my job since I was in charge of that location. Granted I'm not in rides so it may be different there. I also felt it was my responsibility. Anything that would go wrong would be on my shoulders and I would have to explain it. But I also was given credit for good things.
I feel all employees take pride in their blue tag. And I haven't met many who didn't work hard to earn it. I know I did.
It looks like I'll be able to be there for most of training week. Unfortunately I won't be there in April, you know, that whole "higher education" thing is getting in the way. I know you're not going to have any trouble though, it's a car ride and a circular, nothing terribly difficult. I have faith in you! :)

Oops! Turns out I lied!
Just kidding. My manager actually promoted me last week. I'm the team leader of Zone 2 sweeps. Woo hoo! It's the zone I worked in last season. I'm excited about the promotion too!
