Blackout

I wasn't an employee last summer so I didn't experience it myself so I was wondering what happened at Cedar Point during the blackout. I have heard a lot of rumors and also a lot of stories on here. Just curious to see where everyone was at the time.
Well... I can tell you it was pretty fun. I mean as an employee we don't normally get to interact with the guests on a normal basis. They don't really acknowledge us generally, unless they're doing something stupid and are getting yelled at about it. I was working on my ride... Power Tower... and all of a sudden the entire park just got completely silent. It was reallllllly eerie not hearing the midway music or sounds of roller coasters running at all. I mean it was honestly dead silent. But it was definately a fun experience because I ended up going out to our entrance, where I sat there for probably two hours just talking to people. Asking them what they thought of the park and how their stay was. Stuff that you don't really hear about on a regular days basis because we're busy doing our jobs and they're busy enjoying the park. Without the power.. we didn't have very much to do... and they didn't either so it was cool. It just sucked because once they finally let us go home the line of cars to get out of the park was gigantic. It took me and my friends over an hour to get back to our appartment. Funny thing was... once we got back the power came back on. Anyway... I hope that sorta gave you a feel for what it was like.
