[url][url]I was out on twitter and John Hildebrandt posted an interesting
tweet. "Today we finalized a schedule for removing the big screen in front of CP-LE. Midway view of MF and train station will be awesome. More to come." John has only had his twitter page for 4 days, but has already been giving out some great Cedar Point info. Here's another great tweet from a few days ago "Lots of sunshine on the midway today. Removing old lights on the Giant Wheel, getting ready to ignite the night in 2012!" Here is his twitter page: https://twitter.com/#!/CPGMJohn
Wow, that screen's been there longer than MF, PT, MANTIS and Iron Dragon and Wildcat's paint jobs. 17 seasons.
I remember seeing the Super Summer Sucktacular in 1995 for the 125 summers celebration thinking this is pretty cool. Little did I realize that it wasn't going to change all that much from year to year...
Here's hoping that they'll tear up some of that concrete in the plaza and make more of a park setting... heck, even a small flat (scrambler, Troika) could fit in the middle.

This is wonderful news! Honestly one of the best things I've heard coming out of the park in a long time. The view will be spectacular.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
The only thing I will miss about it is the college football games they play on it during Haloweekends.

Great news! I didn't mind the show but I hated the placement of the screen and have hoped every year that they would take it out. That area is going to look like Cedar Point again.

Very, very good. Loathed that screen since the day it was installed. One ugly monstrosity gone....one much larger ugly monstrosity by the lake to go.

YES! It's about time! That thing has been a blight on that midway since it was put up. That are used to be one of the most picturesque areas in the park before that thing was installed.
Well I think this confirms that the screen wont be used for Luminosity. Wonder where thats going to be. From the sound of it, according to John's twitter, maybe near the giant wheel.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker
Hopefully they get rid of the structure the over lord comes out of during halloweekends.

One eye sore down, plenty more to go. Thank you post-Kinzel leadership.

Unless those are used for the new show that is coming. It would make sense to me to reuse those for an outdoor show instead of constructing new.
Next step, removing the unused security tower in the parking lot.

The executive leadership changes, and now John is on Twitter and being very open about whatever comes to his mind. Love it. I think this confirms everything I've said about how he's the perfect guy to be in the GM spot.

This is great news! I wonder if there are any plans to reuse or re-purpose the screen? Even though the screen was a huge eyesore, many people loved the convenience of it for football games during Halloweekends. Hopefully, we can see some removal of concrete on the Iron Dragon Midway. The midway is much to big to leave it empty like the Disaster Transport area used to be.
I'd like to see a few family flat rides there. That would be a nice children's area with dodgems, iron dragon and wildcat.

^^^^ Couldn't agree more Jeff. I could be wrong, but I always got the feeling from talking with him that he had a vision which was simply being ignored. Not him alone, but nonetheless...ignored.

This is fantastic, wonderful news. Anyone who grew up with the park in the 60's, 70's and 80's will remember how nice that midway looked with the train station at the end. That screen was one huge eyesore, I'm so glad it will be gone.
