Big Bash 2006

Since I was reminded about it in another thread, which I'm biting my lip to respond to, I was wondering what the theme and changes are for Big Bash. It was far and away my favorite event at CP and I was wondering.

Theme- during my 2 years it was summer sports and Vegas nights

Changes- Since they built Skyhawk on ground zero, where are they moving the party?

From what I have heard, BB 2006 is going to be Pirate themed... Im assuming after the sucess of a certain film starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom...

I would think they would still have the party in the same place, and simply have Skyhawk open along with Mine Ride and Wave Swinger...

It will be interesting to see how they will have next season with a huge new ride and many more guests in the area. here are the thems they had the years I worked there:

2004: sports

2003: jungle safari

2002: All american patriotic

1998: margi gras

1997: island themed

1996: x-files supernatural theme

1995: hippie 1960s theme

1994: mexican fiesta

I don't think 1992 and 1993 Big Bashes had themes.

Big Bash is fun and go if you can. I have a lot of nice memories from them.

Yes, Big Bash was one of my favorite nights of the summer... You are practically handed free food everywhere...

Did they stop doing Calypso Bash with the free hot dogs? I know it wasn't as well attended, but I enjoyed marathoning Blue Streak...

last year calypso bash was called the retro bash and this year sad to say no more calypso/retro bash at all

Last year (2005) it was a Las Vegas theam. They gave away so much stuff last year!

My friend won a DVD player and another won a TV but I just worked it and still had fun! I think I had more fun working Big Bash rather than attending it.

I feel kind of dumb asking this but what exactly is Big Bash?

It's the annual big party thrown by Cedar Point for its employees in frontier town over by the Mine Ride/Skyhawk/Antiques/etc.

It sounds like it would be a lot of fun, and I think that the employees deserve it!

I was wondering why there was some random pirate necklace hanging on one of the resevoir pipes on Skyhawk yesterday.

What day is the BIg Bash 2006 scheduled to progress?

It was last Tuesday.

I was there Tuesday and Wednesday, and Tuesday night we went to this pizza place outside of the park, and there was some guy in there and we were both waiting for our pizzaz, so he just started talking to me and my parents! haha. He said he worked at the park in '94 and somehow he knew that Big Bash was that night! haha. I wondered how he knew that if he doesnt work for/with the park. Anyone know how he knew? haha. Just wondering. He was a friendly guy, but he insisted on telling me and my parents his life story and all about his car and his wife and his job. It was weird! haha

Speaking of Big Bash. I got my question answered on the CP Blog. Go me..

That was a pretty cool entry though. Darn pirate themes. Somewhere on Cp's site you can find a picture of me pirated out for our pirate themed ride night.

One thing I did notice during my couple years at Cedar Point was most locals have a connection to the park. They either worked there or know someone who does now( thier kids). Big Bash is like prom. You have to go. So if the pizza place has any current CP employees, which most places do, chances are they asked for the night off.

My favorite part of Big Bash was the T-shirts with team slogans. Just wondering what kind of slogans were printed this year.

The exact name of Big Bash 2006 was Pirates Paradise just to clarify things up. The line for Skyhawk was extremely long though, so I dont think anyone marathond it. Great time all around though.
