Best/Worse Lift Hill View

All of the many roller coasters at the park are in various locations and are facing various directions. As you're climbing that massive (or small) lift hill and taking in the view around you, on which roller coaster do you like the view or perspective the best? My personal favorite is Millennium. There's an awesome view of the lake as well as the rest of the park. 2nd place goes to Magnum.

As for the worst, I'll have to go with GateKeeper. Even though I haven't been on it yet obviously, and although I think it will be cool to have the lift right next to the beach and lake, I think it will have the overall worst view due to the parking lot. Maybe I'll end up liking the view, who knows.

Magnum and Maverick.

Let's Get Weird.

I think Gatekeeper will have a great view, at least for the left wing.

Even I guess the right will probably be good too, since there will be a good view of the layout. Maybe I should have worded my original post differently. I also think GK will have a decent view, but not as good as some of the other coasters like Millennium.

My favorite view is TTD. Although you're only up there for a split second, the view of Millennium and the Frontiertown area is quite breathtaking.

Best view has to be from Millennium. Worst is Corkscrew. All you see is the maintenance garage.

i love blue streak. great view of raptor and sandusky bay and the marina

Millenium during the day, raptor at night.

While I agree that the view from Millenium Force is indeed quite good, I find that the view from Mean Streak is more pleasant. For starters, lift hills on wooden roller coasters are always better for multiple reasons. Even on Mean Streak. The view of the lake, the view of Camper Village and Lighthouse Point, and the fishing pier are very pleasing. Frontiertown itself is a nice view to behold as well. Plus, I have a thing for wooden roller coasters. Particularly ones that pass through a part of their structure on the lift. Maybe I'm weird.

For all the Mean Streak haters out there, I have other lifts that offer a nice view as well. Gemini offers a great view of the entire park with the exception of Frontiertown. But you get to see that on the turns. Plus it's a classic racing coaster. The race to the top always adds a certain air of excitement. And of course, how can we forget Magnum. The coaster with what is hands down the best view of the lake. Unfortunately it faces AWAY from the park, but it has what is unquestionably the most unique view of them all.

Just one man's opinion.

And I forgot to add this. I agree. Corkscrew has the worst view from the lift, followed by Iron Dragon, first lift. And no, I am not an Iron Dragon hater. Quite the contrary. Being old enough to remember when it was new and actually still possessing some of the press releases, publicity photos, and a 1987 poster-size calendar (very good condition, mind you) direct from the PR department, Iron Dragon holds a special place in my heart. As do most of the rides from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. But that doesn't change the fact that the view from the first lift leaves something to be desired.

^ I disagree. Iron Dragon, in my opinion, has one of the nicest views. To your left is Mantis and Millennium, and to your right is the trees, TTD and lagoon. It has everything a person could ask for. Nature and Coasters.

Strictly speaking lift hills, I'd have to say Millennium Force wins, however the second hill on Magnum, especially at night, the view (or lack of one) is really nice over the lake.

GK right side, may have the worst view, with all the behind the scenes crap from the games/buildings.

I like Mantis, MS, MF, Magnum. Honestly, there is hardly a horrible view from any lift, when you can look around and see all that coaster greatness around you! :).

For me Cedar Creek Mine Ride's first lift hill blows, lol.

As for my favorite it's gotta be Gemini. You can see everything except for Mean Streak.

^ With that Logic I don't think you would be able to see CCMR or Maverick, or even Magnum.

power tower ;) before you drop.

My all time favorite (as if it was up for debate) is Dragster, but I DO love Magnum night ride views. The thing I like about Gatekeepers is you get a view of the entire Lake Erie shore. A view you can no longer get from Space Spiral except for on Windseeker.

But there's a problem, Adam. Dragster does not have a lift hill. Doesn't the train have to be in the process of being "lifted" by some mechanism on said hill before one can label said hill as a "lift hill"?

:)

Hmm, good point lol. Then I guess the best lift hill view for me is Magnum.

Well hey, the launch is technically at a slight incline, right?

So you're lift hill on Dragster just doesn't lift the train very high. If that's your idea of a good view...;) Different strokes for different folks.
