Best time to get your season pass?

Loops - sentences usually have punctuation and capitalization....that looks more like a stream of consciousness.

I did get an email back from Michigan's Adventure (I can't remember if I posted about it or not). They will process my voucher from Cedar Point, but said it may take a bit longer because they will call to verify with Cedar Point. Its a small trade-off to me.

One other thing to keep in mind. If you aren't planning on getting your pass till Opening Day (or later) and you don't yet have a voucher, you can save yourself some time. Just buy an admission ticket for that day, enter the park, and come back later when the line is shorter. You can apply THAT DAY'S admission to a season pass. Just make sure you keep the stub and receipts and stuff.

If that ever happens to me. I will just go ahead and pay for my admission that day.

A while ago I heard about something... like you could get your money back when you went to redeem your pass if you kept the receipt. I don't know though.

If you purchase a 1 or 2 day pass and then choose to upgrade your ticket to a season pass, they'll deduct the price you paid for the day(s) pass from the season ticket price. We did that last year, we purchased discounted 2 day passes from the Breakers Express, I think it was the 2 Day Ride/Slide for like $65(don't quote me) each then we upgraded to season so we just paid the difference $108-$65 (or whatever we paid).

They probably wouldn't go for that if you've already purchased your season pass and am just buying the 1 day to avoid the line. But who knows.

Once the park is open for the season, the office will be open during park hours.

Last year when I went up on opening day it wasn't that crowded, Memorial Day is really busy and lines are very long for pretty much any ride. Seems like everyone wants to go during the very warm part of the year to get on the water rides, but suprisingly the lines wern't that long last year on opening day.

I've gone on Memorial Day weekend the last two years, and have never really had that long of lines. In 2006, we went to the park on Sunday and stayed the night. For 2007, we went down to the park Saturday & Sunday staying both nights at the Breakers Express. Yay for into the park an hour early. We rode MF twice within 15 minutes! But then I got sick after MF 2 times and then Iron Dragon, all within 25 minutes. Dramamine is now my friend.

Compared to trips last year on a Saturday in August or Saturday's in September, Memoiral Day is nothing. We're going for the 2 days at the park and 2 nights in a hotel again this Memoiral Day weekend.

The shortest lines I experienced in all my vists last year had been on Thursday June 7. If I remember corectly our trips last year were:

  • Saturday/Sunday of Memorial Day weekend - Pretty short wait times
  • Thursday June 7 (I remember the date as it was exactly 1 year before my wedding) - Short wait times
  • Saturday in July - Average wait times
  • Saturday in August - Awful wait times
  • Saturday/Sunday in Late September Saturday - Beyond awful wait times; Sunday was pretty short wait times.

Sorry I should have been a little more specific.. I was comparing the weekend before Memorial weekend as opposed to Memorial weekend itself. Seems like the lines were twice as long during mid morning to late afternoon, only got to ride a couple things. The line was rediculously long for the Witches Wheel (my CP trip isn't complete without that one).

I'm never going on a holiday weekend again, I also skipped Labor Day weekend last year because I just remember how the crowds were on Memorial Day weekend.

I noticed that overall in general for the month of May the crowds are very light as opposed to what you said regarding August.

I usually go the most in May and after school goes back in after Labor Day, I find the crowds are fine during those times.
