Best time of year to buy Season/Platinum Pass?

I will be purchasing 3 Platinum Passes for Cp for next year. Those will be for myself, wife and 10yr old daughter. I have a couple of questions.

These passes work at all Cedar Fair parks? Will I have the same "platinum" privileges at Kings Island (free parking and early entrance)?

If these other parks are having special ride days or food or drink specials for their Platinum card holders do we have those opportunities as well?

Are there Platinum discounts for fast pass?

Me and my wife bought platinum passes on our visit last weekend. They are not processing passes at this time. Has to be done next year. Your pass after purchasing is good for one entry at the gate for whoever has it in their hand. When purchasing our passes they did not even ask for my wifes name. So yes, If you wanted to purchase your pass now you can let someone else use it for entry to the park.

Those that have had the Platinum passes this year, did you feel the need to pay for Fast Pass?

I took my daughter in August and we used the Fast Pass and really felt we got a lot more done then if we had not had them.

My fiance and I both have platinum passes and did not purchase Fast Lane once this season. We go almost every weekend, so we didn't see the need On busy days, we would take in the shows or go for a walk on the beach.

Question..

I am about to renew my Platinum Pass, but my wife has a Platinum Pass and I am only going to purchase for her a Cedar Point Season Pass.

Is that considered a Renewal for her, or a new pass?

Do they tell you to specifiy renewal or new when purchasing on-line?

Our family has platinum passes and I've never purchased fast pass. Don't need to. Just go on the right days and everything is walk-on.
