Best seat on Magnum

Each roller coaster train is broken up into several cars. Each car has 3 rows of seats. 1-3 means car 1, third seat in that car. 2-1 would be second car, first seat, and so on.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Ive ridden in every seat and the back is always best, but front is less painful. But my seatbelt has come undone alot on this ride, and im not big, just 5'6 135 lbs, so i fly around when that happens.

If you have long legs, you will HATE your ride unless you are in the front of a car. And since you say that you love airtime, I'd say go as far back as possible. So I guess that means 6-1. I love that spot.

Last public train of 2005 on MF!

everyone says that Magnum is Jurky. Because it is an arrow coaster?

correct me if i'm wrong but Gemini is an arrow coaster and is a very smooth ride.

Late at night just before closing the trim breaks after the 3rd hill are usually turned off. Ride in the back of the train, and although the ride will move faster through the air hills on the second half, it seems much smoother. The trims ruin the ride. When I was there in late July I rode it in the back car in the afternoon when the trims were on and the ride killed me. Right before closing I got on in the same seat, and the trims were off and it was the best ride I ever had on it. Well the first time I rode was the best, but since then. I love Cedar Point, but they love trim breaks way too much. I'm sure I'm not the first to point that out.

why add them?

Trims are used to reduce the speed of the train. On some roller coasters they are needed. The gross missuse of them occurs on Mean Streak, Magnum, and Mantis. They ruin the second half of Magnum. They completely ruin Mean Streak. Mantis recovers from them, but the hurt the fun of the first hill. Millennium Force is completely void of them, As well as Top Thrill Dragster. I have been on all three without them and they all were better rides before the trims were added.

I'm 6'2" and have never thought the Magnum was too tight. Then again i just cross my feet and kind of slide them as far back as i can and try to get them off the floor if possible. I guess it's just a habit because some cars are tight on the leg room.

And i was making a tongue in cheek comment because Arrow loopers are especially known for their roughness. Yes, Gemini is an Arrow and i would say that it's generally smooth, but it has its days too.

The trims have never ruined a ride for me on the Magnum... but it is better when they're off. :)

Yeah I like magnum either way, but the difference is remarkable.

The back seat is the best part of any train in the world!

I like the last car on the right side. I guess that would be 6-5. I have never felt that the ride was too rough to ride in the back car.

The last car has 6-1, 6-2, and the last row is 6-3. Usually when designating side it is just 6-2-R or 6-2-L, etc. But anyway...my personal favorite seat is 6-1 because the airtime is just so incredible in the back, and as many people have told me say "it goes faster in the back..." 2-1 is also another great seat in my opinion. And on another note, trims are added on most rides to slow them down for a particular structural reason, so the ride doesn't destroy itself, as is the case with Magnum and the constant welding needed in the pretzel through its first season, and the eventual replacement of track for 1990. I know its a lot better of a ride with them off, but for maitenance reasons its crucial to keep them on.

To me, every seat is bad if you pull the lap bar down too far. :)
