Best seat on Magnum

I'm planning on going up to Cedar Point for my 18th birthday and one ride that has always eluded me is the Magnum. I've ridden it multiple times, so i guess it hasn't acutually eluded me, but rather...Let's just say i haven't been too fond of it. Anyway the point is i'm going to give it another shot to prove its worth. Is there a seat "specifically" that makes the ride less painful?

I love everything about the ride until u hit the bunny hills. From then on it's just pure pain on my thighs. If i could eliminate the pain more, Maggie, would definitely be one of my top roller coasters because i am a huge fan of air time. I just prefer to not have bruises on my legs after the ride. But that's just me.

Any suggestions?

Well, you probably won't like my first suggestion, so I'll give you my second.

Sit in the front seat of a car. The airtime is less violent in those seats.

Make your seat belt tight! The lap bar used to kill me on the bunny hops, and I ride 6-1! But I put my seat belt as tight as I could stand it and it didn't hurt at all through all that airtime. 6-1 is the "front seat" of the last car. Maybe try 2-1. That is a good seat too.

For as little "airtime" as possible, ride in the middle of the train, front of the car (3-1 or 4-1), tighten your seatbelt as tight as possible, and try to have a little room between you and the lapbar...

For me... 6-2 or 1-2, and let the airtime go!

1-3 - Only when I'm feeling brave...

Get the 'last click' of the lap bar. All cars seem ok for me - never had an issue with to much pressure on the bottom.

And I have to agree w/ everyone above - get your seatbelt as tight as it can be and have fun.

Thanks Guys...Can't wait to try out your Advice!!!!! CP HERE I COME!

I've always had good rides on 1:2, or 2:1. I've never really sat in the middle, but you will find less airtime there. Whatever you do, don't sit in 1:3. That is the seat that makes the ride incredoubly wild, and painful for me. As Josh M. says, I only ride that when I'm feeling up to it! The back car can also be a bit on the painful side when it comes to the bunny hops. I'd say Jugga is right. Try to get the front of a car.

Thrills Around the Corner!

The Front seat for the least airtime. Row 3 for the most airtime. Wait... or is that backwards? hmmmm. I don't remember. Wait yes it is backwards. Front seat for the most, third for the least. Wait. No thats backwards. Hmmmmm will sombody help my stupidity!!!!!

6-1, every time for me. Maybe the front if I feel like it, though, so I guess you can disregard the "every time" part.

The front seat has the most leg room of any of the rows, so sit in the front if your legs are crammed and it hurts. It takes alot of the pain out of the ride, and makes it more enjoyable.

1-3

I don't know about you guys, but I love Magnum in the front seat, it's the best seat. Magnum is also the best in the second and third cars.

Seat 1-3 is the most violent.

Seat 1-2 is my choice. But the back has good seats as well. Generally i pick the second bench of any car on any coaster with a three bench car.... does that make sense to you ;)

I personally like car 3 seat 1. It gives some very nice air-time, with some extra leg space, and without the rough ride.

Well, my suggestion is fairly odd, I suggest going on a very windy and rainy day and taking the last row, it's smooth as can be due to the slick track and you get pulled over every hill, which offers a great ride. If you don't want to get banged and whatnot at all, then I suggest 1st seat, or instead going to Dorney Park and riding Steel Force which is a better hyper coaster imo anyway and is much smoother than Magnum.

Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!

I have found to the front seat to one of the rougher seats on the ride.

Well, the entire ride is rough, but the front just seems somewhat smoother, that is on a regular day. As I previously said, the back is smoother on a rainy day for some reason, but on a regular day, take the front seat, it's the smoothest that you'll get considering the ride is 17 years old and has arrow track.

Next time try seat 1-2

I think the ride is just as smooth as it was on day one. After all it is an Arrow. But i wouldn't have Maggie any other way. It is the best coaster on the planet after all ;)

i enjoy seat 6-3 but that's just my opinion
