Best CP Flat Rides?

I totally envy you guys that can ride these "flat" rides with no problem. The only ones I can really handle are drop towers...anything else makes me dizzy, sweaty, sick and just a mess. Even Raptor and Maverick messes me up and I have to watch how much I ride those. I'm really going to try to get on Windseeker or MaXair this year however...

No love for Pipe Scream? I think its a fun ride. Seems to be very rain sensitive though. Times I have been there when it rained, it was down for the day (even when the skies later cleared up and pretty much everything else in the park re-opened).

I'll give Pipe Scream some love, it is a lot of fun.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

It is fun. But this is a thread for flat rides and Pipe Scream is clearly listed as a roller coaster on Cedar Point's website, so clearly it doesn't belong in this thread.

Don't duck out the door! You've all got me in the Ride ALL the Rides!!! meme brain right now.

I'm really lucky spinny stuff doesn't bother me, most people start having trouble with that as they age, but I'm in my mid-50's and can still ride any spin-and-puke without the puke portion.

My husband is the polar opposite, unfortunately. The most intense thing he can ride without getting sick is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Needless to say, I do quite a few solo visits to the big parks. This trip is different because I'm bringing my newly graduated nephew along as his grad present. He's a coaster geek like me so I know we'll have a great time, plus he's never really ridden many flats so I'm looking forward to introducing him to more fun with the CP lineup thanks to this thread!

I hope you & nephew have a great CP experience on your visit! I was the first one to respond to your post and I want to admit hypocrisy on my part. I frequently ride and enjoy some of the rides I said to skip! Even today I rode Troika, Tiki Twirl, Scrambler, Matterhorn, Super Him. I am also mid-fifties & enjoy most rides for what they are.

My son and I were a jinx today on two rides. We were strapped in on MaxAir and Windseeker, both went down & we had to exit. And I must say, I still miss the Rotor.

Well, at least you jinxed Windseeker at load and not at the top! We've had jinx days at parks too, one day at Magic Kingdom we jinxed Pirates, Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion and even Snow White, two of them happened mid-ride and we actually got to walk out of Haunted Mansion we thought it was pretty cool. It's weird how some park days just have that kind of vibe and others flow so smoothly.

Rotor, boy I haven't ridden one of those in years. I remember the first time on one I was completely freaked out when that floor dropped.

I'm hoping for smooth days for at least 2 out of 3 for us!

All of you commenting about Tilt-A-Whirl just might see a certain Pointbuzzer while getting your rides in ;)

Fortunately, Maxair starts swinging and turning at the same time. The best advice I can give you that works for me is spotting the vertical loop on Raptor as long as you can and then the spoke on Wicked Twister the same way. You can't just look straight ahead if you are like me or you WILL get dizzy. It's amazing how intense the drop on Iron Dragon even feels after riding this.

My personal favorites are maXair (worked there in 2010 and there's nothing like testing it first thing in the morning by yourself), Cedar Downs, and potentially the most underrated flat in the park: Monster.

Monster has everything you like in a non-inverting coaster in a flat ride. There are so many dips and spins that you get an incredible "stomach-dropping" feeling throughout. Yes, load times can be a little long, but it's completely worth it in my book.

I like Monster too. Especially the most recent sooped-up version.

My favorite flat ride is Maxair. I love how it speeds up and you feel the airtime while you're almost upside down. I agree with Sparty, Cedar downs is completely under-rated. Oh I also enjoy Windseeker a lot. Yeah it doesn't do too much except go in circles, but it's a lot of fun. I also love Skyhawk too, but I wish it had more swing laps before it came to a complete stop. Anyone know what I mean when I say swing laps? Sometimes I confuse people.

We always have lots of fun and laughs on Tilt A Whirl and Ocean Motion, 2 consistent good rides!

Did the new cars on Dodgem neuter it? I haven't been on it too much lately.

Word of warning about MaxAir - from what I hear it makes a LOT of riders sick. If you get motion sickness easily, use extreme caution on MaxAir.

Yes. The Dodgems are a shadow of what they once were. If I'm with people who want to ride them I'll do it but otherwise it's not worth the time. Might as well combine them with the Joe Cool Driving school and call it a day.

SKYHAWK!! It's my favorite flat ride at CP and it rarely has a line. Quick question on Skyhawk though I noticed it was swinging higher at the beginning of the year however on a recent trip it wasn't going as high, has it changed?

I miss Chaos! That was such an awesome flat ride at Cedar Point!

As for the current best ones: Skyhawk, MaxAir, Power Tower, WindSeeker, Witches Wheel

Can't miss? Skyhawk, Cedar Downs, Lake Erie Eagles, Power Tower. I only avoid flats that make me too dizzy (MaxAir). They're all pretty fun in their own way. Most flats have quick lines unless there's only one operator.

Maybe you've never tried this flat in Camp Snoopy? https://www.cedarpoint.com/play/rides/camp-bus. It's a "flying carpet" type family ride. One adult per row may ride, no kid required.

Skyhawk has three settings: low, medium, and high. They have different factors that determine what setting they’ll use. Other than that, I’m not sure how it works.

I always chuckle a bit to myself when I hear rides like Skyhawk and MaxAir referred to as "flat" rides! I get that the term has essentially come to mean "non-coaster rides" but these two are anything but 'flat'! LOL!

Cedar Downs is probably my favorite flat. MaxAir and Skyhawk offer more of a thrill. Personally, I am not a big fan of either of these non-flat flat rides, but I understand the thrills that they give to those who love them..

Scrambler and Tilt-a-Whirl are two other faves of mine.
