What are some of the perks of being hired to this job? How much would I be making and are the tips plentiful? How rough is the job on lugging everything across the hotel? Is it something I'd be able to do? Thank you everyone for the help, I sent in my application the other day! I'm hoping to be assigned to sweeps honestly.
I haven't worked there, but from what i have witnessed throughout all my stays at Hotel Breakers...... Lugging stuff in the Bon Aire and main sections of the hotel (old parts) there is no elevator, so hauling heavy luggage and coolers would be your biggest issue there. And up the staircase from the guests cars into the luggage holding room or whatever you call it.
Other than that, its just rolling a luggage cart, up elevators and to the rooms.
I have seen some bellhops carrying a cooler and multiple bags at the same time, up the stairs to the older parts of the hotel. Made my back hurt just seeing that!
Not sure what else they do, but I think the bell hops are also responsible for driving shuttle buses, but im not 100% sure on that.
Whenever i asked the help of the bellhops, i have tipped well. Im sure you will run into some that don't.

Yeah.. I've decided this really isn't the job for me. I'm not the best at all when it comes to lifting things. It says my application is currently being reviewed.. what can I do to change this? Should I wait until I'm notified? I'd much rather do sweeps.
Contact Human Resources ASAP. If someone from accomodations contacts you and you tell them that you're not interested in that job, then they would probably be a little irritated.
Alright, thanks a lot. What's the number, and what exactly should i say? Just tell them I'd rather do sweeps instead?
Just explain to them that you thought the job description was different than what you thought, and it doesn't sound like something you'd be interested in. Be as apologetic as possible and thank them for their time since this is the time of the year that is most hectic for them. Ask if you can be transferred to Park Services and speak with a representative that can help you out for a possible job opportunity as a park sweep.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post any of the park's numbers on here, but just Google "Cedar Point Human Resources" and it should be the first link
