Being a Ride Operator

I'm thinking about applying for Ride Operations next summer (2014), and have a few Questions.

1. Can you pick the ride, or rides you would want to operate, or does it rotate from time to time? If you do get to pick which ride is it First come first serve, so should i apply early?

2. How good are the Hours? I heard somewhere a minimum of 40 hours a week maxing at 79, is this true, and if so is there Overtime for this or not?

3. Whats the average pay-rate?

4. Can you be a ride Operator with out any experience?

5. It is fun right? I would hope so this is the job, I'd love to do some day.

But if you get to choose which ride to operate, it would have to be one of these. In no particular Order

1.You can request, but it is more of "we assign you to the crew we need people for"
2. NO overtime pay. You'll work a ton of hours
3. Minimum wage
4. Yes
5. It can be.

Demon Drop 2004
Castaway Bay Lifeguard 04-05

1. I requested TTD, Maverick, and MF, was contracted to Raptor and loved it
2. Seasonal job, no overtime
3. already answered
4. already answered
5. You get out of it what you put in. It can be fun or a burden. If you get along with your colleagues its fun, if you don't like them, its going to be torture.

Thanks for the help, but about the hours how Many Hours a Week do ride operators average?

A huge part of that depends on staffing. If they're short staffed, you could easily work 70+ hours a week!

I don't remember working less than 50 during the summer.
