Jeff---hate to tear ya down but that was one of the stupidest comments about cp ever. You cannot just pick 5 coasters and say they ared the only ones that matter.2 reasons

1) When they opened....they all mattered...and it's people like you who take technology over quality. Just because the iron dragon is VERY close to being a kiddie ride..with it's minature 76foot drop..It's still good. It dosn't have to be the newest or fastest to mean something

and 2) All coasters mean more to different people. My little cousin is scared do death to go on DT cause it's in the dark...but Iron dragon is his favorite...AND IT MEANS SOMETHING TO HIM. Just as It can to all. That was my first coaster. If that wasn't there i never would have experianced any others for a while.

If Superman's a coaster then power tower must be 4 coasters! And don't forget Demon Drop!

cp has 20 coasters!

You know what's really interesting (not directed to bragging rights), but DT is actually something special...how many indoor bobsled coasters have you even heard of, let alone just bobsled coasters by themselves. Another thing to consider or make special is the collection of 1st generation free-falls,which CP & SFMM both have as well as many other parks, eh, just a thought.

At the end of the day does it really matter if Cedar Point or Magic Mountain has more coasters? Personally I could care less if Cedar Point has 15 and MM has 150. Come spring the only parks I care about are Kennywood and Cedar Point because those are the only two parks that I'm sure I'm going to. Magic Mountain might as well be on Pluto for me and many many other people on the east coast. So why don't you just give up this pointless argument and go buy some gifts for your loved ones, stimulate the economy.

Why are many people in Ohio worry about what SFMM is doing, claiming, building, opening, not opening?Perhaps because coaster fandom extends beyond your homepark. If you love baseball, the Indians may be your home team, but if your a true fan of the sport than you can't help but watch the entire sport. If this bothers you, all you have to do is NOT click this thread... Still, I agree it's not worth fighting over. Both parks will continue to draw millions of fans every year, whether your a fan of them or not. ;)

CP Rider - I didn't say they didn't matter, I said anything special as in break any records, make any top coaster lists, etc.

How can you honestly say PT and DD are coasters??? They're not! A ride that pulls you up elevator style and drops you is considered a free-fall attraction. In Superman...where you are in a "coaster" car and launched down "coaster" track and then up a tower where you return to the station on that same "coaster" track pretty much makes it a coaster!!! This discussion of Superman not being a coaster is absolutly obsurd!

Well you can always turn that arguement around and say if Superman is not a coaster, neither is Wicked Twister.

Magic Alumni, when you lift a car up by an elevator lift, that doesn't make it a coaster? Hmmm, there's a little coaster called MF that uses an elevator lift.

Maybe you think that since it isn't a vertical lift and that it is angled that MF could be considered a coaster. Well there's a vertical lift suspended coaster over at PKI also, is that one not considered a coaster?

DD has a vertical lift, is a complete circuit uses gravity, and runs on rails...by anyone's definition, it should be a coaster.

I think pt can be considered a coaster becuaseHypersonicXLC at PKD has the same type of track and is considered a coaster.

Who cares? A coaster enthusiast does what? Rides coasters and enjoys everyone of them. And why does it matter what park has the most? I know I'd rather go to a place like Lake Compounce, which has 4 coasters, to ride Boulder Dash, rather than a park like Six Flags Over Georgia, which is soon to have 9 coasters,more than double that of a middle of Connecticut amusement park. Look, Cedar Point is my homepark and my favorite park, and I've been going there since I was little, but it's not worth all the arguments and crap. There can be so many technicalities on Superman or Wicked Twister or others. People could get so picky to the point that they'll say that the CP & LE railroad is a roller coaster because it runs on rails and is a complete circuit and is capable of making turns. Just let it go and ride.

Ok, now let's say that somebody proves that SFMM has more coasters. Does that make the coaster at SFMM any better? Does that make the coasters at CP any worse? No, it doesn't so can we please drop this whole thing?

I think that most people aren't even concentrating on the posts that say drop it, and continue with nonsense like Power Tower being a coaster because S&S made a coaster or 2 that have white I-beam tracks that look like PT's, and qualities of clones and whatnot, whatever.
