Beating it's own record for most coasters?

Then CP will have the best one just like they have the best of all their coasters except for wood of course but we wont go there. BTW isn't Chang is an exact copy of Mantis excpet it has an extra corkscrew whaty the heck is up with that? And why in the world would SF have Impulses so close to each other sounds pretty dumb ya know I mean if SF can have so many impulses in the midwest why can't CP have one?As for S:ROS it is just another hyper which was first done by who?  Oh yeah Cedar Point.

If SFWOA were to put in a hyper like they say would we have too many in the area I mean CP has two, SFGAM has one, PKI has a hyper woodie would that be too much?

Your arguments make no sense, and I belive that CP draws more people from indiana, western, ohio, and michigan then it does Cleveland.

SFWOA mainly draws its visitors from cleveland.

CP doesnt just make its rides for us enthusiasts, it makes them for the GP.  And like I asid before if I was the GP and saw this superman twisty thingy and then saw CP had one bigger plus everythign else they have, I would sure as heck go to CP first.

Like I said before as a person living in michigan CP getting this just gives me one more reason to not drive that extra hour to SFWOA

-----------------
Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

Ok ......I said "Oh we know badboy, Cp just thinks MM is too far away to worry about" That was a answer to his Question.

Then I went on to say "They think the Gp is to stupid to realize that CP has been ripping them off for years." "THEM" meaning Six Flags. Not just MM. Although they ( MM ) did get a Intamin lim before Cp. I can see why you guys want to key in on MM. It's the only leg you can try to stand on.. Nice try.. I should have made that clearer for you.. I thought by ending my post "If you ever want to know what Cp is getting next year just seek out the new coaster at A SIX FLAGS PARK" You would have caught on. Guess not. Sorry. Two of the rips are from SFGA. Go to the SFGA web site.Tell me DDog, What does that Batman in SFGA look like ? And CP_Bound...What does Iron Wolf look like to you? Notice how I'm comparing B&M to B&M  DDog. And not Arrow to Giovanola. I guess comparing BIG coaster to BIG coaster is enough for you.

You know...I'd love see what everyone would say if SFWoA  built a 315 ft. 82 degree ,95 mph. Intamin. You guys would be the first one's to cry rip-off.....

As a person living in Michagan that make sense....TO YOU... What about the people in PA. Why should they drive longer for the same ride?

-----------------
~~Steven~~

FYI... I live in PA.. and have convinced many people to make the extra hour drive time to Cedar Point. I know that since my favorite type of coaster is in my fave park, I won't set foot on SFWoA's land again.. unless someone else is paying for it.

Granted, WoA is closer to me than CP is, if I'm already driving a distance, I'm going to make it well worth it and take the extra time to drive to CP.

The way the thinking is for most people is that they aren't going to drive the extra distance for 'a coaster thats found down the road' when in actuality.. they are going for the one thats bigger and, in their eyes, much better.

Now now kids, let's play fair. Parks rip from each other all the time, it's part of the business. The idea is to improve on what has come before and CP is good at that. People just don't get the humor in all this, want to always get mad and start the pissing matches. These park fan wars are all about hypocrisy. Stuff like "X can't be counted until it opens". lol! Never mind that CP is already counting WT(WHAT THE?) before one piece of track is laid, and the park is closed. Two years ago impulses were regarded here at gttp as a silly little aside at SFO, how funny CP themselves would put a few feet in mouths by announcing one of their own.

Another good one is how you can set your watch to the SFMM vs CP threads once either park makes an annoucement, yet I don't think even one comparison has made the least bit of sense. And nobody sees the humor in all this?

Enthusiasts are walking cliches...

I don't like to partake in silly arguments. But having been to CP, SFMM and SFWOA I will toss in my 2 cents. I loved all three parks. All are great but for different reasons. The coasters are different and provide different experiences. I never got off any of the coasters and though "What I rip from SFMM/CP" CP is building WT which is very similar to SUE but it is still different. Which will make for a new ride experience. If your a SFMM fan and just came to this site to rant, then shame on you. And if any GTTP members went to a SFMM site and did the same, then shame on you as well. Just have fun. Now, I am sure the PR departments of both parks have an attorney working for them somewhere in the mix. Which means there will be plenty of lies told by both sides. It's just the way things are now a days which is really really sad.
Going to any park is fun. But for MM now to be still calling themselves the XTreme park even after they know we're gonna have the same number of coasters as them just is stupid. We have more rides than them anyway.
On Magic Mountain's website it says they have the most coasters on earth....We'll see......
-----------------
This is the way it is in all industries, Iacocca makes the Voyeger, now everyone makes a minivan, so what.
Someone has to make the first everything, then others try to improve on it.  Iron Wolf is just an improvement of Togo's ride etc.
I have been reading this thinking what a riot, parks have been doing this oneupmanship from the beginning of time, why change now.  As to being coasters or not, who really cares.  But to me; if it has the exact same trains and track as a full circuit coaster by the same manufacture, its still a coaster no mater if it goes full circuit or not.  But; if it looks like a NASA rocket sled, that happens to not even go  most of the way up its tower, I have a problem with that. Of course by this definition, Hypersonic, wouldnt be one, it looks like a full circuit NASA rocket sled and even has rubber tires.  And I havent heard anyone try to say it isnt one. As far as free falls, they are elevators, look like one act like one, well except for the fact that it falls back down!! So we are argueing symantics.
This nonsence about building the same ride as down the road, it is no different than a McD's and BK across the street from each other,  If a competitor has something sucessful, and draws a few customers from you, you would be nuts not to build a better one and attempt to squash the competition!  I hope SFWOA does buld a hyper, compitition is a good thing.
Lets just say both MM and CP have more great THRILL rides than anyone else, and CP and GrAdv are both real big.

It could be said that every hypercoaster built after Magnum was a rip-off. I guess if your having problems understanding that the parks have originality that's your problem. I could understand if we were comparing Coney Island and CP, but a park that's only 25 years old against a park that's 121 years old.

"Nice try.. I should have made that clearer for you.. I thought by ending my post "If you ever want to know what Cp is getting next year just seek out the new coaster at A SIX FLAGS PARK" You would have caught on. Guess not. Sorry. "

Could you tell me where we got Mantis from? Magnum? Millennium Force? Disaster Transport? Gemini? Blue Streak? I want to draw you to one fact: Cedar Point is the best Amusement Park in the World for 3 years running! It's capacity, park operations, cleansliness, and world-class coasters are unbeatable. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

-----------------
MF Laps: 2
Raptor Laps: 3
Magnum Laps: 2
Power Tower Launches: 1
Power Tower Drops: 1

Don't even get me started on this issue. It's old.

Cedar also has an extra coaster:Gemini.....remember the world record(old one) of most coasters in 24 hours????

-----------------
Live for FUN!

Don't let life fly by.

Magic Mountain has collousus too though so that one doesn't work, Like I say we should count Demon Drop and Free Fall as coasters too if we can count STE.

STE doesn't even have a train geez.

Yeah, I guess If you wanted to get technical, Gemini is two coasters. But, even if we counted it as two, MM has Colossus, so they'd count it as two.

So, we'd actually get no where.

edit. Someone beat me to it.

"I guess if your having problems understanding that the park have originality thats your problem"  What does that mean? I'm having a problem understanding why CP would rip a ride so close to home. Anything besides a U shaped Intamin impulse would not be a rip...Get it?  As far as comparing SFoA to CP..There is no comparison. Thats why I think a clone from SFoA is so lame."Could you tell me where we got Mantis from" You never went to the SFGA site I see. Lets get one thing straight. I'm not a big Six Flags fan. Six Flags are the kings of clones...I just hate to see Cp go down that road. I'm done with this DDog, Happy Thanksgiving.
Drat, Buger King shouldnt sell hamburgers, McDonalds was across the street first!

The Idea is if you have what the compitition has, and more.  They have no reason to go there.  Origianlity has little to do with it from a business standpoint.  You give the GP what they want.  Most of us have season passes, and dont even eat much at the park everytime we go, hence we dont really contribute to the bottom line.  GET IT we really dont matter except as free PR to all are friends and family.  Why do we argue about clone coasters/thrill rides, but virtually every flat ride is in every park and we dont bat an eye.

What the heck does being the Xtreme Park have to do with how many coasters you have? This is the kind of craziness I'm talking about lol. Their new slogan was clearly started because of the extreme nature of X.

DONT FORGET THE POWER TOWER!!!!!!!!!!
Ummm, yeah, so...is Flashback operating now or what?  And this is all crazy, bragging rights shouldn't be in the number of tracks are mounted in a park, but in the quality and greatness of those tracks.  Everybody needs to sit back, relax, and have a good time with these great machines here instead of seeing where the most are.

CP had three of their coasters on the top five steel list on Thrills, Chills, and, Spills. How many did MM have? And how many did they have when NAPHA did the list? And did you see any of theirs in the top five of the Golden Ticket Awards? It looks like we have the better coasters. I know there are tons of lists out there which probably have some of MM's coasters, but you know, those aren't taken as seriously as these.

cpoint14 - Only five of CP's coasters are anything special - Raptor, Mantis, MF, WT, and Magnum.

SFMM has Goliath, Deja Vu, X (when it opens, which it will), Riddler's Revenge, Batman: The Ride, Superman: The Escape, and Viper.

That's what makes me wonder what the reasoning is behind these people that claim "quality over quantity".
