I have a pet theory that Cedar Point knew exactly what Banshee meant when they announced it for Cedar Point, but that a more important issue was that Landmark Entertainment Group registered the trademark first.
Now, the Landmark trademark is dead, and obviously FUN registered it several months ago, so they can use it unencumbered at Kings Island.

Well from reading some FB post, people are already up in AIR abt the name. It looks like it will be a good ride. As a retired charter & tour bus driver who has been to many parks in a 14 yr run, KI isn't the most exciting place when you pull up to it. CP has that over KI, if people are concerned abt the name and where it's going, maybe a Ghost Hunting Team should be called in and do a show on sy-fy or something. With me knowing some of the folks in the ParaNormal field, and what I hear abt the director's of these shows having alot of it FAKED, maybe they will find something really spooky there cos of SOB's accident.
There was actually a Ghost Hunters episode a year or two ago where they were at KI. It was pretty interesting.
I have no problem with the name Banshee and wish it would've stayed at CP. Political correctness drives me crazy.

It wasn't political correctness, it was public relations and the image they wanted to present. In the 1990s associating death with a roller coaster was not considered a good PR move.
Unlike, apparently, now. :)

That is an interesting take Dave. Do you really think they get that far in the process (logo created, marketing materials and "stuff" produced, etc) not knowing that the name already had a registered trademark? I'd be more comfortable knowing it was Kinzel's aloofness than the company's ignorance.

Anyone else not looking forward to the restraints? I'm 6'3" and Gatekeeper's restraints bruise the hell out of my clavicle bone!! I loved the ride (rode it 3 times via Fast Lane) but literally wanted off half way through on the third ride! It hurt bad! Let alone being able to put your arms up! Granted, Raptor's restraints and the compactness of each car in the train don't help either, but the giant bars on the new design get in the way for me a lot.
I thought I remember seeing WAYYYY back on a Discovery channel show (circa mid 90's), a new restraint that went over the shoulders like normal, but then you pulled them in together to adjust for different chest sizes...wonder what happened to that design?
It seems odd that name banshee that cedar point was gong to for Manos is gung to be use at kings island for their new coaster after cedar point have decided against it. This is very odd. We will see how long this name will last.
The ride itself looks awesome. But I really HATE the vests. I don't understand why B&M feels it's necessary on all their new rides. I feel the vests take away from the airtime you can get due to the extreme tightening that happens throughout the course of the ride. I like having some room to move around and the vest inhibits that.

The vest issue has been slightly corrected so far on GK, so I'm sure the same fix will be applied to the new trains on BS
