No joke whatsoever. I wish Kings Island luck, and I hope that the name won't give them any trouble like it did to Cedar Point, causing them to change the name of that ride to Mantis.
Yes, wow, I was thinking the same thing! I know paramount owned KI in 1996, and I guess paramount didn't know then, obviously, when CP named their ride Mantis. I wonder if KI knows of this! But...good name and another good-looking coaster! :)
Of course they know, they're owned by the same company.

I had read that B&M was ready to do a launched coaster, so I thought maybe a launched invert for KI. So I was a little disappointed, but it still looks great! I'll definitely be going there next year.
I have yet to find the height of this new coaster. I couldn't even find it on KI's website. I drove 3 hours and 45 minutes for Gatekeepers media day which was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I'm considering driving the extra hour for when KI has Banshee's media day. Anybody else looking forward to media day? (I know its a year a way but it's always nice to look forward to.) Also I heard that B&M has a new harness system for there B&M coasters. Does anyone know any details on this?

Lift hill height is 167 feet, but when considering the terrain changes there is a total difference of 208 feet from the highest point (top of lift) to the lowest (bottom of batwing).

Honestly I'm sort of jealous KI gets a decently themed coaster, while we get GateKeeper. Don't get me wrong, I love GK but I wish it was themed. Come on, I still can't get over Banshee's station. It doesn't look like something from a Cedar Fair park.

Banshee will also have the same restraints found on wingriders.

I watched the live streaming and I thought he said 200 or so feet high but I found something on Wiki and it says 167' high and a 150' drop. Raptor is 137/119.
I think it's a good addition and I actually find Raptor still more exciting than Gatekeeper myself.

I cross posted with you, Ride On 17, but I think it takes more than a station to make a themed ride. I would consider KI's Adventure Express to be themed throughout, I don't think they're doing that with Banshee. But I wonder how one would theme something with the name Gatekeeper, though.

This coaster looks awesome. Especially the theme. For CF this is a step up. Hopefully it will actually look like this, and have the gravestones and all. Unlike Maverick's planned theming. :/
Are the vests really necessary now?
What is a carousel element?
I don't think any ride ever looked like the introductory promotional animations.

With Gatekeeper I was excited about all the other changes at the park (DT removal, new front gate, etc.) but not so much about the ride. Banshee is a ride I can get excited for. It looks like it'll be fantastic.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Banshee isn't themed, unless you count the station. And if you count Banshee's station as "theme", then there's no getting around counting GK's keyhole over the park entrance as "theme". CP's entrance looks much more dramatic than Banshee's station.

Judging by the teaser video, Cedar Fair is well aware of the meaning of Banshee this time around.
And DK isn't around to get cold feet and decide to change the name once a newspaper prints the definition.

While I haven't ridden Gatekeeper to experience that type of harness, I would have to believe it beats the head banging received while riding Raptor. Would be nice if they could retrofit Raptor and maybe even Mantis with this new style of restraint.
I could see old Inverts getting the new restraint but not any other type of coaster.

Good. Maybe it'll draw some of the crowd out of CP for next year when it debuts.
You boneheads need to learn how to roll up the extension cord for the fluggegecheimen when you're done with it!
So who is gonna wear their Cedar Point Banshee shirt(rare because of the Mantis name change) to Banshees' opening ? If I had one,I would !
